I fell in love with this beautiful piano piece by IvyAnne (please go listen to it, it's magnifique on its own!!) and its curious title "Chrysalide" which is French and means "chrysalise". I'm not sure what images this word brings to mind for English-speakers, but to me the Finnish translation ("kotelo") sounds like something cozy, something where you can curl up and be safe... I wonder if butterflies ever end up in situations where they get scared and wish they could return to their chrysalises!
Now this kinda has nothing to do with the song, (doesn't really fit its sad atmosphere at all), but I just wanted to thank you guys for a great year, I didn't have the chance to upload anything on my first hitRECord anniversary when I had it two weeks ago, but I'm celebrating it now! During this year I've done so many things I never thought I could do, and it's all thanks to this wonderful, supportive community!! Loads of love to you all, you guys are the best, here's to the first one and the many more to come!!! <333 :)
Lyrics:
Chrysalide, oh I need to come back
I flew away too far
I am hurt, my wings are tied up
Don’t play games I know where you are
Chrysalide, I am lost, I can’t deny
I need you to heal me now, oh
Chrysalide, I cannot fly
Let me come back home
Chrysalide
Chrysalide
Harmonies to this already beautiful soothing tune.
