So, I did a paper stop-motion :P Feel free to remix and such! I put the original version of the song up, just so it's easier to add more on top.

After two days of editing...I NOW SHARE MY BABY WITH THE HR COMMUNITY.. HAVE FUN :)

I gave up on the videos I could not download and edit and just used what I could. It was not my original vision, however, I still enjoyed making this. After it uploads I will make sure to cite EVERYONE, but since I was having issues with uploading earlier, I am waiting until it is offically uploaded and then I will go back and revise.

The vocals are my good buddy Johnny Hemberger (not a hitRECorder yet, but I am TRYING to get him to join, because you will love his work).... anyway, I have his permission to use any songs of his and we have our own agreement until he actually joins.

Hope ya'll enjoy the challenge I gave myself this weekend :)

BIG NEWS:  We're gonna be on TV!

"Hit RECord on TV" is gonna be a new kind of variety show.  I'll host the show and also direct our global online community to create short films, live performances, music, animation, conversation, and of course, more! Each episode will be focused on a different theme.  And like always, anybody with an internet connection is invited to contribute.

This work illustrates how we are told to dream large and of wondrous things, but the world around us demands us snapping back into reality and getting our heads out of the clouds. The flying heads are representations of the Oneiroi, the Greek gods of Sleep, Dreams and Nightmares. The figure pulls down the cloak of sleep while the Oneroi soothe him to sleep. Meanwhile, the field of lightbulb plants and jars of fireflies attempt to wake him up.

Animated in a book from a used bookstore. Thought the title was interesting and based the animation of that. Animated by drawing over the original sequence again and again. Done straight ahead hence the timing issues. Goes by quick and it's a lot to look at in 30 seconds. Tried to plan it out but it all went crazy anyway.

Here's a guide to STARTING NEW COLLABORATIONS:

• Click the big red "REC" button and select "Start a Collaboration."


• Give your collab a title and a description, and also add an image record from the site as Cover Art


• From here you can start a Request List so the community knows exactly what you need for your collaboration.


• Example: Let's say you needed an Illustration of "a bird." Well, you'd go to the "Select Category" menu, select "Illustration" and then write in "Illustration of Bird." That way the community can see specifically what is needed from Illustrators.


• You can create Requests for the other categories in the drop-down list as well.


• Collaborations now have Reels. You can add records from the site - or highlight new contributions to the collab - that you would like to feature prominently within your Collaboration. You can also organize the order of your Reel, and add or remove records at any time.


• It's important to note you need to include at least one record in your Reel when starting a collaboration - it's recommended to record a Request Video, or write a text record, or include an audio or visual example in your Reel so the community gets a clear idea what you are looking for.


• Then just click the "Start Collab" button when you're done.

Here's how you CONTRIBUTE RECORDS TO COLLABORATIONS:

• Go to the Collab and click "Contribute."


• You can either upload a New Record or contribute an Existing Record of yours from the site.


• You will have to select a Request from the Collaboration that your contribution is fulfilling and then choose the record to contribute.

Here's how you REVISE PRE-EXISTING COLLABORATIONS TO ADD REQUEST LISTS:

• Go to the Collab and click "Revise."


• Create Request Lists so the community knows exactly how they can contribute


• Add Records from the site to your Reel to shine a spotlight on examples of what you're looking for

I thought of different elements that I wanted to incorporate in the video and thanks to the amazing resources, I was able to find what I was looking for. I was aiming for feelings of freedom, love, loneliness, nostalgia and the search for something more. Each individual lost in thought, hoping that the light will shed answers.

My first Remix. I used Robo J's 'Train to Los Angeles' video footage and remixed it to ppeppina's song 'Re: loops (we can go back)'. I like how the footage of the train journey works both ways, whether it's going forwards or backwards, and the music is just really nice and melodic. Hope you enjoy it! :)
