Hi!

So I’m doing Feb 3 Re-RECS really, really early this week. Unfortunately for me, I have yet another exam next week, so I wanted to get it done before a long study weekend began.  But it seems that the month of February is going to be a long and arduous journey for me as well,  so my presence on hitrecord will be even less.

I’ve been doing re-recs every week so far for the past month or so, and  I didn’t want to stop! These records brightened up a stressful week, please consider checking them out! :D

The Story of Frankie (RE: Dreams) by Alexandra Balashova

Apparantly, a lot of work went into this little video. I thought it was very nice. I liked the story, the filmed scenes of the city, and most importantly Frankie. Very cute. More could be done with this. Though I enjoyed the story very much, maybe rewriting the work to make the typed out scenes shorter and easier to read would be good. I don’t know. Check it out, I’m sure you guys will have some awesome ideas :) But congrats to Alexandra and the people who helped her. I thought it was amazing. It looked amazing :)

Wandering fauxbeam by Ghstlyghstly

I don’t see much out of the Shadow Beings collab as much anymore and I’m always happy to see new stuff. Therefore this to to not only highlight Ghstlyghstly’s song but to highlight the Shadow Beings collab by Attilee. :) I love this collab, its one of the main reasons why I joined HR.

But the song. I liked this song. Its has a fauxbeam-esque feeling to it and more can be done with this. I’m no audio/music remixer, but I think it has potential :)

DREAMSHARE!

The Cutting Edge Collaboration (by seldelaterre) I think is one of the coolest ideas so far this year! :) I’ve enjoyed the contributions so far, especially since it gives my mind a rest from studying. :P

The contribution I’m highlighting is:

-          The Cutting Edge- Vintage Voice-Over by joerud

• This voice over has a feel of listening to some old audio recording (hence “vintage”)  during a post-apocalyptic time. I think joerud captured this idea very well. But it could be used in a film with some people in a post-apocalyptic world finding this recording and listening to it. But I’m sure there are many other ideas and inclusion in a film would be awesome if the dreamshare concept is further explored. ;)

It was in the fall, when I caught a glimpse of you. Tiny story for this photo of Kokomo's amazing art.

For solo piano. Written in memory and honor of my piano professor, Dr. Ruskin Cooper (1957 - 2012).

Completed on January 4, 2013.

My first original composition in roughly two years.

A somewhat simple sounding request for world building and background adding.

Many of the contributions to the collab thus far have been character based stories, leaving a bit of a gap in building up the world Shadow Beings inhabit. So I'm requesting some world building and shaping! Be it expanding the world of Umbra, the Shadow World, in the form of written descriptions, or visuals like MelonBerri has created. I (and Soupy too!) want to see how we can grow and expand the world of Umbra, so start forming it up in any way you see fit. 

"Is Umbra a city, or a sprawling slum? What's a day in the life of a Shadow Being like? How is the Shadow World different from our world? What kind of home environment does a Shadow have?" Are just a few questions to get your ideas flowing!

Anybody, have at it! vocal, instrumental remix, whatever! It's just a simple idea, I'd like to see what can be done with it.
