Daily jingled the small pink porcelain piggy bank he used to store the money his parents gave him on occasion. He looked forward to the moment when he had enough money to buy his daddy a very special gift. A look of
excitement spread across his tiny face at the thought.
Popping the small cap at the bottom of the bank off, a slew of coins and several dollar bills slid out of the compartment. He spread the money out across the table, carefully counting each piece he’d painstakingly
saved so far. His small fingers slid in every direction as he arranged every coin into separate piles.
He took a step back, and stared at the arrangement, wondering as to how much he’d truly gathered. At seven years of age, he still had a hard time counting things. This was mostly due to the fact that he was a slow learner, but he didn’t care. Knowledge was slowly seeping into his brain, and he was determined in understanding everything that came his way.

He picked up several of the dollar bills, and carefully counted through them. Ten dollars! Surely, that might be enough to get his daddy a good birthday present? But no, he wasn’t sure if it was. His daddy liked nice things, and he wanted to buy him something he’d be proud of.
Dropping the bills back on to the table, he leaned forward to count his quarters. He grew frustrated as he misjudged his counting, and had to start all over again. Before he knew it, his counting was off by a mile.
Daily banged his hand against the table, and swiped the coins...
