I'll be out of Hitrecord again for the next 10 days, I have to go back to CR from this Friday to May 6th, I'll be back in Nicaragua on May 7th, so I'll see you all later.

This is my challenge #5 completed.

Debra gave me this challenge: "I have an odd little challenge. ;) So I was all grumpy about getting out of my warm and cozy bed this morning. I got grumpier as the chill of the morning stole the warmth my blankets had given me. But them I walked into the sun and warmth streaming through the sliding glass door. I just stood there, letting it thaw me inside and out. First time this spring has actually felt like spring! Can you make me a remix that captures that warm, sunshiney feeling?"

GV’s RE RECS – April 7, 2013

Hi guys, I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. These are my recommendations for this week, I am recommending 17 illustrations, 3 videos, 1 Collab and 2 music recommendations, all of them are fantastic, so please guys go and check them and recommend them as well.

RE RECS:

1. The fall of a King by Glamshum: Brilliant illustration here! I love this kind of drawings where you can see a lot of elements, especially when you can see a lot of people, in this case, I found myself looking to this illustrations for about 30 minutes because I was amazed watching all the different people and their expressions and the details that Glamshum added to each one of them. I would love to see this with colors, or perhaps maybe someone can create a story for it, someone?


2. Therapy by Pantoufle: Another fantastic illustration made by Nina, I love how she is always able to take a feeling or a situation and create these amazing illustrations based on that. I would love to see somebody creating a story or tiny story for this image, or maybe a remix? Awesome as always Nina! J


3. Ca (t) iger by Monika Dekowska: I love Monika’s work, her work constantly remind me of Frida Kahlo. She have this unique style, that is a combination of mystery and abstraction, like in this case, she make this illustration of a cat/tiger but she always print her personal style on the design, I would love to see somebody using this for some remix or maybe somebody can make an animation for it.


4. Open your eyes wide by caroleluciole: Carole is a wonderful artist, her drawings are just beautiful, in this case she took a picture of Joab Nevo’s beautiful baby girl and made this amazing drawing based on Zoe, I love the details and the expression on the baby’s face. I would love to see somebody maybe adding colors or perhaps someone can use this for a remix or as inspiration to write something.


5. Yellow Fields by helename: We have a lot of wonderful photographers on HR, I think is necessary to feature more pictures because we have a lot of amazing shots like this one, I think this is a perfect shot, the beautiful yellow and green of the flowers contrast beautifully with the blue of the sky, I also love to see the houses in the right side, they have like a brown/orange color. This could be a perfect resource as a background for remixers.


6. Beside me by bibster: I love colors, when I see an illustration or drawing that have a lot of colors, it always caught my attention, and that’s what happened with this beautiful image, that was made with oil pastel and watercolor. When I saw it for the first time it makes me think about these 2 women, I think they are old and I think that they are been friends forever and they are there together no matter what, so I would love to see somebody writing something inspired in this illustration. Love it!


7. Shadow Being goes to work by Kavonne: Shadow beings is one of my favorite HR collabs ever, and my heart just jump of joy when I saw a new remix, illustration or video about the shadows. I think that Kavonne did a lovely work with this remix, I really like the resources that she chose and also the effects of the light and the mist and how the shadow looks in the middle of the forest. Shortly: Perfect Remix!


8. There’s a prisoner inside me by miss_agathe: Another of my favorite illustrators on HR right now, miss_agathe created this brilliant remix, she said that she didn't use to make this kind of 'dark' illustrations, but I just can say: please keep them coming! This is fantastic and I would love to see somebody creating a story for it.


9. The consequence of truth by Bellaarts: Bella is been doing a lot of fantastic remixes lately, and I think that she is getting better and better. What I love about this specific remix is the colors and textures that she used, it makes me think about this woman trapped in the middle of her feelings, but maybe somebody else have a better idea and can write a story inspired in this illustration. Awesome work Bella! J


10. A sea of sky by jollygreen91: Outstanding! I think is magical, this is a picture probably taken in a mountain and it’s so high that you are actually above the clouds, in fact and as the title said, it seems like it’s water and that you just can go and swim there. Awesome shot, I think it could be useful for remixers or video editors as a resource.


11. A series of people standing by Christinacandraw: This hitrecorder just joined 2 days ago, and I can say that I already love her work, because I am always looking for this kind of artists who have a unique style, and I think Christinacandraw is one of them. Her work remind me a little bit to mirtle and Lea Daniel, which are both some of my favorites, so I instantly in love with her work. I would love to see somebody making a remix or writing a story for these guys.


12. Anita by Absconditus: I love this. I love the style of this drawing and also the colors. I think that this illustration have a lot of potential, writers can be inspired to create a story for Anita or maybe someone can make a remix for it, but what I really would love to see is someone making an animation for it, I would love to see the horse walking, someone?


13. El Bajista “1956 Jazz” by blaschapa: This is a great resource for remixers or perhaps for musicians who are looking for an illustration to be used as a cover art for their music, in fact, blaschapa uploaded a couple of more records with the same style that can be used. J


14. Between an axe and a dark place by Chariot13: I challenged Chariot13 in the challenge collab to make a remix from the images in the Grimm Gallery Collab and this is the wonderful result, I really love this remix, I like the world that she created, the characters that she used, and I think that there’s a story behind, so writers, get inspired and write something for this creepy and fantastic image.


15. Lognapper by tenpast7: This is a wonderful character, first I want to say that I love your style, you just contributed with 4 illustrations on HR and I love them all, please keep them coming. Writers, I am sure you´ll find some inspiration and that any of you can create a story for this character, who is this guy? What’s his story?


16. The Cat pack by JonLock: JonLock did it again, he is a regular Hitrecorder on my RE RECS because he is always uploading these fantastic characters and illustrations and this one is not the exception. I think these guys have a lot of potential, maybe someone can create a story for them, or someone can make a remix or create more illustrations based on these guys, awesome job as always man J


17. City Sky by Devin Mac: This is so beautiful, I really like it since the first time I saw it, I love all the elements in this remix, the birds, the balloon and the moon/planet in the sky, make it just perfect and magical, I would love to see somebody using this for a remix or perhaps someone can create a story based on this illustration, great work!

1. Boo! Animated by OnlyB: OnlyB did it again, you are on fire girl! This is hilarious and very well done, you are getting better and better, so please keep them coming J


2. Crashing – Tiny song music video by MarkAlanK: Brilliant! Outstanding work MarkAlanK, I have to admit that I saw this awesome video like 10 times already and I think it’s just perfect. Thanks for using one of my remixes, and please keep contributing with more awesome records.


3. Goldfish – Animatic by Jason Angelone: Jason is been doing an awesome work contributing with some illustrations and now this video, for the Goldfish script made by Meta. This video/animation is brilliant, awesome work my friend!

1. Clear the way by Joerud: Another hitrecorders that is constantly in my weekly RE RECS, once again, I have to say that I love your work and this song that you made for mixedtape’s challenge, is beautiful.


2. Anticipation by Pamagotchi: Another of my favorite musicians on HR, Pammy, she is singing this song inspired in how much she miss the beauty of the summer. Lovely as always.

1. Detective Eddie takes on the neighborhood watch by Wunderboy: Guys go and check this collab and get on board, this is an awesome collab created by Wunderboy and there´s a lot of possibilities and things to do, based on Eddie the detective.

This is the poem that she wrote:

I'm just a girl 

trying to figure out who she is

and even who she wants to become.

I'm just a girl

who wears a cloak for warmth in the cool breeze. 

I'm just a girl

whose trying to find her way in life. 

I'm just a typical young girl with a trust issue I will either meet a friend or foe

So I made this remix, inspired in her poem, maybe it wasn't my first idea when I started this remix, but for some reason when I read the poem again and again, I thought about a girl who doesn't know who she is, and that is always trying to answer that question, but she is always trying to use masks so she can hide who she really is inside, so Mrs.Tibbs hope you like my idea, thanks for the challenge.

I really love Wunderboy's idea about making some kind of short film based on Eddie the detective. So I made this remix, I was thinking in some kind of poster or intro for a short film/animation or whatever we are going to do with this awesome character.

I am always inspired by Bella's amazing paintings (artgirl) who is one of my favorite artists on HR right now. So I made this remix using different parts from some of my favorite images of women that she uploaded on HR.

I was inspired today after a conversation that I had with a friend last night, My friend told me that people sometimes show themselves to others in some way, but that really inside there's more, and sometimes it took a while to see the whole picture, in fact, sometimes we don't know ourselves completely, so that's what I tried to show with this remix, that we have inside different feelings, thoughts, characteristics or personalities? trying to come out, and makes us ask ourselves once in a while Who Am I?

Hi guys!!!

Hope you are all doing great! First, I just want to let you know that my recommendations page is a total mess, with the new changes that happened like 2 days ago on HR, my conversations page and featured records are acting weird, in my conversations page, when I click latest records, is not showing me the last records that I recommended, in fact it’s showing me a mix of old and new records, so said that, I had to do some magic to find some of the new records that I recommended and based on that, I made these RE RECS. Hopefully, HR staff will be working on these issues very soon :)

Said that, these are my RE RECS of this week, I am recommending a lot of records from the Challenge Collab, but also some other records that I hearted this week, I am including 15 illustrations, 2 videos and 2 music recommendations.

Illustrations:

1. Growth (Challenge response part 1) by epocadofim: I challenged Eric to create a poster with 3 of his favorites illustrations from the creepy collab ad he created this wonderful and mysterious illustration, I really love what he did here, and I think it’s a great image to play with, it’s a great resource because there’s a lot of elements that can be added to this amazing illustration, Awesome job Eric!


2. “Teeth” Trophy Teaser Poster by TheSerpentTheCharmer: Another fantastic contribution to the Challenge Collab, I challenged Brandon to create a piece based on something from Sinnamin's "Creepy Collab", so he took "Teeth" by AeB, which I think it was a brilliant choice, and created some kind of poster for it and I just think that the result is fantastic.


3. At Deaths door by EdwardBurkitt2005: This is a very creepy image. Edward wrote that he took this picture in an Ohio Grave Yard, I think that there’s something beautiful on cemeteries, they are a mix of scary and peaceful places, and this picture is a good example of that. This could be a great addition to any Halloween Collab this year.


4. Through these eyes (hunter’s challenge completed) by DebraLou: Love this illustration created by Debra for a challenge that she had to complete for the Challenge Collab, she was inspired on Hunter Benson’s Homeless text record and I have to say that I really love what she did here, she created this fantastic character that I think could be an inspiration for other writers to create something else inspired on him, who is this guys? What’s his story? Someone?


5. The Tenant by sinnamin: I have to say that this is one of my favorite creepy and scary records on HR ever. It gave me chills when I look at this for the first time, there’s something in this illustration that made me feel sad, I don’t know why, but I just can say that this image have a lot of possibilities, writers could be inspired for writing a story or remixers can play with this, adding some other elements. Awesome picture Sin! :)


6. Seadream (Challenge) by Sallyiheart: There’s a lot of great results from the challenge collab, this is one of them, I love this remix made by Sally because this is the kind of remixes that is a good example of how to find the perfect illustrations and create a completely new and beautiful remix with them, I would love to see somebody creating a tiny story or short story for this image.


7. Kids in the day by Paddy Hughes: I’ve been watching some of Paddy Hughes work and I really like her style, her paintings and illustrations are very unique and they are a little mysterious, this is a perfect example of that, there’s something creepy in this kids, but that’s something that I found fascinating in any drawing or illustration, maybe someone can create a story for these kids?


8. Dark Shadows by eddieMphoto: This picture is perfect for any creepy/Scary remix, I love the reflections of the light in the mist and the trees and benches looks so mysterious, I would love to see somebody using this image as a background for any kind of remix.


9. Creepy carousel by Kallee: Another new favorite creepy picture. When we think about carousels, we think about kids having fun and laughing, but in the way how this picture was taken, with some creepy atmosphere, it’s a completely different story, it makes me think that carousels are a little creepy, but the truth is that I like it, so guys, play with this image, there’s a lot of potential for remixers and writers here.


10. “Goldfish” – character concepts #2 by JasonAngelone: Another amazing creation by Jason, he made these fantastic characters for Goldfish – A short script by Metaphorest and I just can say that I am amazed with Jason skills, is amazing to see how he create these brilliant characters in so short time, I wish I could do the same. Awesome job as always Jason! :)


11. The haunted stairs by Ternesie: This is a creepy image, It makes me think about all these scary pictures on internet where you can see orbs or strange lights and shadows, I think this is a fantastic picture that can be used as inspiration for remixers or perhaps, writers could write a story for it.


12. Pine Tree Forest by Belcath1981: This is a good example of an illustration that can be used for a lot of things, especially for remixers as a background and also for Animators; the possibilities are endless with this kind of resources, so let’s play with this guys! :)


13. Spooky sun #2 by DianeFT: D is been contributing with a lot of great pictures lately, this is one of my favorites, I love when people took pictures of different things, especially on nature, and these pictures are taken from different perspectives,  and this is a good example of that, this could be a great resource for remixers. Awesome shot D!


14. Muse (remix) by TanyaMar: There’s a lot of wonderful remixes inspired on Bree’s Hat illustration, but I have to say that this is one of my favorites, Tanya is a great artist, she is very creative and she knows how to put together beautiful illustrations that she turn into new wonderful illustrations, like in this case. I would love to see someone remixing this illustration or creating a story for it.  


15. Through the night by Miss Agathe: Love this. I think this is a very beautiful illustration, and even when you can see that this is a city and the sky, at the same time is a little abstract, and that’s what I love the most about this image. This is a great resource for remixers to create something else with this amazing drawing.

1. Ima Bear Animation by OnlyB: For some reason when I converted this video to AVI, the video is showing some kind of issues, but if you want to see this amazing animation of lovely Ima bear created by Gyllenmaya, just go and click the original video in OnlyB’s HR profile. You are doing such a wonderful job with these animations, please keep them coming.  


2. Soar by Sofias Cat: This is a wonderful video that can be used as a resource for video editors and filmmakers, the quality is impeccable and I love the different angles from where it was taken, awesome resource Sofias Cat, if you have more, please feel free to share them with us.

1. Simple Song (Joerud BV) by Joerud: One of my favorite musicians on HR right now, Joe made this song for a challenge that Joab Nevo gave to him. He made this remix for Joab’s Simple song adding some little chuckles and vocal noodling, and I think he did a wonderful job as always.


2. Better Days Ahead (Matthew_Lister Remix) by ppeppina: One more beautiful song, sung by the lovely ppeppina, she made this, inspired in a beautiful guitar piece by Matthew Lister and as always, the result is just magical.
