Buddhist_hog

Uploading some drawings from the past months.

From my blog:
This one might require an explanation. In Buddhism, the pig represents greed, anger, ignorance, selfishness, and just overall the qualities that make up a bad person. It occurred to me though that redemption or forgiveness (for anything, it doesn't have to be spiritual) should be an option to anyone willing to accept it. A pig should be permitted to follow a path of forgiveness if they so choose to, even by the practices of people that have denigrated its stature in the world.

I'll leave the clever words to you RECorders out there. Also, I would DL it to get a good full screen view, since the preview shows it a little too big here.

I'm returning to HitRECord...again......again!!!

The following has nothing really to do with this image, just so you know. I really want to regularly start putting up my work here again and contributing with all of you amazing people out there. I've missed this place and it's always been so inspiring and welcoming. This last year was very intense for me as an artist. I sort of abandoned sites like this to spend more of my time going into strenuous training and classes to try and get myself where I've wanted to be in the animation industry. It felt a little like I had been wasting too much of my time online, but one thing that I've realized is that through the support I find in artists online (through facebook, blogs, or here) I've always been pushed to keep being more creative and to keep being more artistically honest with myself and what I'm capable of. So to everyone out there who has ever liked one of my pieces/collaborations or commented on anything really, all I can say is a very sincere thank you. Those silly little "likes" and hearts mean more than I think most people realize. Now, time to get busy arting again! I need to catch up with this place.

Finally finished this, yay!

Please download this to watch it if you can, there are small details being missed in this tiny window (very small file size btw).

Thank you to Samurai Erika for her wonderful "Wheeee" sounds (available in resources).

Rachelb, I managed to fit in a snippet of your voice anyway and cut a quick "Wooo" out of your MMM animal sounds (If you can tell me which tooth I gave it to, you'll get a cookie).

Thank you to elktree as well for having the only suitable background I could find for this!

Even though she's not on the site, thank you to my mom for her amazingly shrill whistle sound (I still don't know how she does it).

And just for references' sake, I did several of the "Wheee"s and all the other sounds in the video.

Thanks to everyone for the hearts and views given to my "work in progress" post (check resources), it helped a lot in motivating me to finish this :)

Now with sound! I doubt you guys will want to use it, but I had made this and thought, "Why not? Just submit it."

*Edit* I have since created a version with the SXSW logo:http://hitrecord.org/records/62074 So ignore some of my following comments.

This version has some sound effects, but it is still lacking a few things (frog tongue, sizzling bomb fuse, sound for disappearing letters, maybe a more convincing explosion layered on top of mine, whatever). Obviously it's missing the SXSW 2010 logo, so if anyone feels like using this one, they need to add that somehow, along with whatever else. I hope some of you like this, regardless of whether or not it becomes useful.

*Video specs: 1080p, 24fps, H264 Quicktime*

Jub_jub_bird
Ok...not really all that frightening, but whatever, I don't care. I like plump, squat birds.

Even though the Alice and Jebberwocky collabs seem a little inert at the moment, I had already started this and wanted to finish it. If I have some time down the road, I might turn around and add some color (unless a few of you RECorders might want to o.O ?)

For future scientific reference, I have nick-named the chest tendrils of this beast "Jubalubs." Dax has spoken...
