I started this on Thursday, January 12, 2012 and spent all my waking hours designing, downloading, cutting, pasting, re-cutting, re-pasting, moving, re-normalizing, and basically everything conceivable in sound editing, to produce this 3-minute vocal mix.
It contains, as the title indicates, 70 tracks (2 are not used in this, but if I can figure out how to make a surround sound recording, one of them wil be - watch for that - coming soon - hopefully!).
These tracks are comprised of 41 hitREcorders who did a damn good job of trying to match Joe's voice-over track. What they didn't achieve, I did my best to compensate for through the "magic" of mixing. I think I came pretty darn close!
5 of the male vocals were pitched up and down to create 10 additional tracks. 5 of the tracks in this mix are dedicated to a "top" channel - which would be really cool at a live presentation of this sound track if the audio engineer figured out how to make it work in a surround sound "plus" format. It is included in this in normal stereo
Three hitRECorders RECorded their kids (DianeFT, Sabine, and Jess Pillmore - their kids are Josh, Julia, Arwen, Logan, and Griffin) and their voices make up an additional 8 tracks. One of the tracks is my extra recording, which I used sparingly throughout. That accounts for most of the tracks - I lost count somewhere along the way.
One final track I'll mention is a public domain playground recording:
Public domain Douzen Kids on a Playground Artist: Stephan

This was definitely time consuming and tedius work, but I think the results were worth the effort.
I hope you do too!

I promised I would have "something" by Sunday -and it's still Sunday in Hawaii I think-so here is a teaser. In all actuality, I have up to "this is an invitation"in the can,and am making pretty steady progress towards having my entire mix completed - but it might take until Wednsday, January 18, 2012, for me to have my mix completed the way I plan.
Please bear with me - I am doing almost nothing else than working on this mix and won't stop until I am finished. I just wanted to let everyone know that my mix is "getting there." It contains all the stems listed in the resources, plus a few created tracks. Since there were so few men, I had to adjust the pitch of the 6 men I did have for this to create more. In all - there are currently 61 separate tracks I'm working with.
Matching up everyone is very tedius and time consuming, but I am being quite methodical and meticulous in this endeavor and achieving quite a good match between Joe's example and everyone else - even though that match isn't natural. It requires me to split stems and even speed some up and slow some down - but it IS matching pretty closely!
The minute and 1/2 I already have sounds pretty awesome. I'll RECord the full mix once I complete it - so please be patient while I continue to work my ass off to get this done.
I also had a little go at this. Again, I've added the audio for the part I think it's best for, but if someone thinks there's a better part then, that's cool too. I see this part going straight into the OWWW for the for flowers.
ps. I've uploaded a new MP4 version for people having trouble downloading and using this clip, that you can find below in the results or copy and paste this http://hitrecord.org/records/634459. Thanks :)
lalalalaa I made this when i was tired to the extreme so i say alot of stuff that doesnt make sense probabababably but yeaaaah
The overall structure is there.
Just a few things with mixing I'll continue to tweak.
Cheers!
I couldn't get away from the traffic in high speed. Something about it speaks out to the mundane paths we take in life. The audio I used from the latest release of A_New_Earth Audio RoughEdit along with Marke's version. The ending gives an eerie feel. It was almost as if the "tech being" is on our side until the end when it changes. The rising sun on the earth is a cool piece of video that I got from 1242.
Version 2 of A New Earth.
A short, rough, edit to demonstrate a few ideas for the mixing.
More voices will be added.
NEEDS MORE MALES!
ok I figured it out. The RECord posted after this was submited.
