(The picture was taken on an Iphone camera on a Saturday morning while sitting on Angel's Knoll off Hill Street in Downtown LA...you can barely see the crowd in the street and this photo doesn't do justice to the all that gathered there that day. When I found it in one of my albums I liked how the tranquility of the park contrasted against the backdrop of a bustling LA metro city. The streets were unusually quiet that day and a lot of the roads were blocked off for the protest. I had no idea that any of this was going on so I was pretty much caught in the middle of it all. Of course I had to RECord the moment...)
Unusually quiet in DTLA.
Everything to do, but waste the day.
Wet grassy knoll beneath my feet,
I watch the crowd travel slowly down Hill Street.
Hundreds turn to thousands with signs in their hands.
Shouting loudly [inaudibly] their silent demands.
My camera phone the observer, I'm a witness to the scene.
Free speech in action, but what does it all mean?
I'm trying to understand and gain some clarity
On what's happening in the world and not sit back idly.
But in the meantime an observer I will be
Just HitRecord...I'll wait...and we'll see.
