Ive actually had the melody and lyrics for this for a few years, and when I heard Malicore's Peppertone Lane I thought it'd be the perfect thing to sing it over. For some reason I can't get my poem Let The Silence Speak on here. So for now I'll just re write it here! Hope you enjoy it! :D:D!1kuhq283qqq82e98q23seriously
girl you walk with much emotion
and i talk with such devotion
but i think i know
its a downward spiral
so you sit there
and I'll sit here
and let our thoughts speak for us
girl you fight like you've got the time
and i write like i've lost my mind
but i think i know
its an uphill climb
so you hide this
and ill hide that
and let our act speak for us
but then you turn your head,
expose your neck,
the way i know,
you know i wont
be able to resist
you want me to
i know you do
i can see it in your lips
girl you kiss as if its your last
and I wish as if i cant ask
but I think I know
its a sideways step,
so you say this
and ill say that
at least for a little laugh
and let the silence speak for us
let the silence speak
I had this song Peppertone Lane that DevinLevi remixed with his amazing vocals and it's exactly what the song was missing. Here is a new mix with the stems he uploaded. Enjoy
I thought it would be nice to draw attention to some things that I love, that I sometimes take for granted. So, this is the first in, what I hope will become, a series of 'In praise of...' videos.
More to come... :)
fair warning: i have many favorite things at the moment. this is also partly i-haven't-edited-video-in-a-while-let's-try-this-out

My dad passed away in 2004, and he didn't really leave many physical belongings behind, other than some photographs as he was big on photography. He was in a band back in the 70's that was pretty popular in his hometown of North Saint Paul, MN. At his funeral, one friend called him, to my surprise, "a local legend.
The band played under several names over time, The Bull, John Johnson Band, Lady, Diamond, Backbreaker. My dad John Johnson was lead singer/songwriter/ guitarist, his friends Jim on guitar, and Donn on the drums. They played school functions, bars, weddings, etc. and never really made any money. If anything they would lose or barely break even, but they didn't care because they were in it for the love of the music.
My dad instilled in me love of music and art, and for that I am grateful. And that is also one of my favorite things.
fallingalice contributed her text record, Vinegar (A Monologue), to the RE: MY FAVORITE THINGS collab. And obviously, I liked it. I still can't predict it, but sometimes certain pieces of writing just make me want to read them aloud. Well done alice!
I'll be curious to see how this might get used to make a little short film or something...
