I recently came along a great short story by AeB about a Time Traveler. Then, I discovered a great song by Venns that matched the mood perfectly.

So, AeB and I mapped out what would be a cool route to turn the story into a short film.

This is where I need your help.

While we have the plot scoped out, we need cool dialog to really nail this character down. Not only that, we need help structuring the layout of the film.

We could also stand for some artwork to inspire us, and music especially to put in the final film.

More details are resourced!

So, I've been absent for a while!

Below is (are?) the first couple of scenes of what will hopefully turn into a documentary (that I'm making with Megan Carnes) about the creative process with you guys!

What I need from you:

What we need is for you to replicate the 'idea' (which is the trash deco font at 96 size font http://cargocollective.com/themadeshop/1120354/Trash-Deco-Typeface) and then just colour it and/or draw on it however you want.

Then pass the paper from left screen to right screen as if you're handing it off. just make sure you do it sorta slowly so people can see it :)

And/or, you can start talking (or just contribute a text RECord) about the creative process for you in the same way. Lots of metaphors and stuff.

I could go film the metaphors (or you could) and if we thread them all together, I think it could be a very cool documentary.

(Skip down and watch the video if ya don't wanna read)

Social networking, as both a concept and a practice, has been hailed as the end of human connection, the reason why people are self-centered, cruel and alienating, a sign of the apocalypse. However, to us, social networking has changed the world for ways that are undeniably wonderful. In the world's pessimism, people are forgetting that social sites brings people together. Like-minded people are finding each other in spite of impossible odds, and we are making marvelous things. We are, like atoms, forging bonds that will not go away.

Oh yeah, say the naysayers, PROVE IT! Okay, here it goes.

WHO? An ambitions group of hitRECorders, in an RV. WHERE? America. Yeah, that's right, the COUNTRY (From NY to LA).

Think we're being vague? Well that's because where we end up going depends entirely on WHERE YOU ARE. We understand that the hitRECord community is spread out far and wide. Not every RECorder can go to the NYC gigs, or Sundance, or SXSW. Our plan is to bring the art, and bring the hearts, TO YOU.

We have dozens of cities to see, hundreds of people to meet, and one summer to do it. We are going to HITtheroad, travel far, and make a feature-length documentary about the impact of social networking on your lives. Yes you, with the camera and the notebook. You with the computer, right there, we see you (hi!). We want to travel to where hitRECorders are and talk with you, sing with you, dance with you, write with you, and collaborate on the biggest and most ambitious project to date.

On the road, we will keep video journals, scrapbooks and blogs so those playing from home can follow along. When we stop in cities, we want to have live feeds of our hitRECord meetups so everyone can be a part of what we’re doing. EVERYONE. Remix our video blogs, write poetry to read at our meetups, make some music for us to play together, write little screenplays so we can make short films. The sky, or should we say, THE ROAD, is the limit.

THE GRAND FINALE: A massive, huge, really big hitRECord meetup in Los Angeles. We expect to have a lot to show at the last stop on our journey, and we hope to present, in the granddaddy of events, the culmination of our three-week (or so) trip. This will be a massive, creative concoction and celebrate the vast, overwhelming, accessible smallness of our social network. Musicians, artists, actors, poets, everyone, will meet in LA to celebrate the end of one journey, and the beginning of another.

So. To start us off we need to know: 1) WHERE ARE YOU? If you want the REC Van come stop in your town, let us know. WE ARE PLANNING THIS TRIP ENTIRELY AROUND YOU.

2)What do you think the role of social networking is in our lives? It’s here and it’s not going away and it’s affecting your life- tell us what you think so we can documentarize it! That’s not a word.

3) Anything else you might want to say. What did you have for breakfast this morning? How’s your cat doing? Do you have no cats? How's your dog? We just want to talk to you guys because you’re awesome.

Are we crazy? A little. Is this a huge and incredibly ambitions undertaking we're about to dive into? Totes. Are we dedicated to making this the first documentary in the world to be created about social networking, via social networking? Yep. Are we RECording? ALWAYS.

To clarify: This is not a hitRECord official trip. We are doing this merely as a group of artists venturing out to make a documentary on a recent trend in our generation.

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left I have been wanting to do this since I first set eyes upon that lonely little cave creature.

Thusly and suchly, this is the result. A rough cut, if you will.

Please, all of you artisans, actors, musicians, and designers, do something with this. Make a poster, REmix it, RECord a new Voice Over (please do this, this one was temp). This script will soon be posted in here.

What have you may.

My tribute is all in vain without the brilliance of Fajigajiga and May Mcdonough.

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left Hey guys, okay... okay.. so!

I just got a new camera. And I really, REALLY wanna shoot a short with it.

Like, this week.

So, to all you writers, you should totally write me a script that i can shoot in the next couple of days.

Let's keep it down to two people max... MAYBE three if need be.

Locations I have available, are my house, some really nice parks, woods/nature, an abandoned place or two, and a small city square.

I hope you guys can do something awesome!

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left So, I tried doing this a couple of months ago... But stuff happened and I wasn't able to (if we're friends on Facebook you probably know what I'm talking about). But now I have an awesome new camera and awesome new editing system to bring it all back!

Here is the old link http://hitrecord.org/records/224460

Anyway, that is an old script and all. Let's make this more open. Comment and tell me what you guys would like to see in an Anglerpod Live Action short film.

Let's be faithful to the original story, but, also make this something new. Keep the same mood, but, change it up.

What do ya guys say?

UPDATE :::::::::)

I guess Joe and I were typing these collabs at the same time... He has the same idea (though not specifically live action) http://hitrecord.org/records/269518

Text_notecard_shadow_top_left Hey! Writers!

Write me something. Ill shoot it next week.

For reals.

Just make it simple enough that I can do it on a zero dollar budget. So, a limited number of actors and locations... And the locations should be somewhere real... Like a bridge, a building, some nature somewhere. You know, what ever. Also, try and keep it short. So like 5 minutes max.

It can be any genre that you want. Just make sure it's awesome!

Okay GO!
