This is probably gonna be my last animation of this kind. I had a long list of great pictures I wanted to animate but sadly (or luckily, depending on the point of view, lol:) I don't seem to have the time for it... (-_-)

I love Lea Daniel's style and this is one of my favorite drawings made by her. I animated it according to my personal interpretation of her art: the spiral stands for infinity since it's spinning around endlessly, suggesting the fact that the story will go on forever, end and start anew.

The little branches are regressing on hevn and growing around urth's eye to symbolize the interdependency of these two characters.

Oh, my description is so long again @_@. Sorry, I just can't manage to keep it short. Imagine how doomed I feel on Twitter :P

So I hope you like it! If you don't, please look into the spiral for a couple of minutes and repeat "I love ALL of Calypso's records" a few times :D. Lol, I'm kidding of course :P.

I'm pretty obsessed with animations lately and wanted to try something new. When I animate I think I feel like a little god ^_^, same goes for drawing, writing, taking pictures and singing (ok, not singing...when I sing I just feel like a weapon of mass-destruction, lol :)

Marielv mentioned camera tracking some days ago and while I googled that I stumbled upon clay animation. Then I remembered kittypimms' hevn and urth models and thought this would be a good idea <(^_^<). I also used InkedCanvas', jay-9's and MoiSanom's drawings as models a.o.

There are more than 600 frames and it took me one day just to shoot the whole story @_@.

This is my materialization of the first 5 stanzas: hevn and urth are introduced to the public :P, afterwards they appear together, awake and hug. Their hug turns into a balance (literally:) which is "shaken" all of a sudden. They depart and hevn comes up with a little yellow story, hands it to urth, which turns it into a star. This star makes them see and they hug again o(^_^)o

The second part is just for fun, it shows my tiny "filmset" and the "actors". The black fellow comes and tucks my hand in (I'm asleep:) and the brown fellow switches the light off.

Ah, sorry for the long description!!! I can't help it :P, because I always feel that the description should be directly proportional to the time and effort I invested in something (which is around two days for this) <(^_^)>

I hope it will upload...There are around 110 frames 0_o ( 12 frames/ sec I think) and it took me almost 10 hours to complete (that is probably because I still have tons of stuff to learn about animating) :P

But...10 hours for 10 seconds...come on! Lol, however, it was so fun! :D

So hevn (in its absolute cuteness:) is just floarting around, it feels strange all of a sudden... urth appears and they swirlly :P unite metamorphosing into the yin-yang symbol :}

P.S. I felt so close to MoiSanom and Danah while animating their illustrations...because I noticed every little detail they added and every brushstroke...strange but nice feeling <(^_^<)

I made the world go round!!! ^o^

So this is my remix of Danah's great record. Inspired by Niki's beautiful "angels" I started my first animation- seems like hitRECord is the place where I do many things for the first time: paintings, video editing, animations...I hope it IS an animation because on one of my laptops I have problems viewing it and on the other it doesn't fit in completely 0_0

I've worked more than half a day on this without a #%@$9 graphics tablet and I'm feeling like a pixeled pixie right now (but very happy to have learned a little animating :) If anybody would like to polish it I will gladly submit all the 37(!!!) frames if it's useful:}

This is how I imagine the first part of “a new hevn” (the first 13 stanzas).  I tried to follow wirrow’s instructions as accurately as possible and I hope I managed to do that ^_^. (I tried to draw androgyne faces but the hair makes them kinda feminine).

Since I’m pretty lazy (and always short of time) I tried to squeeze in as many aspects as possible… And I also tried to stay away from Photoshop and practice painting :P (I only whitened the background:).

So the story starts (similar to “a blot story”) with a water drop and a little cloud.

Hevn is the little cloud (since clouds symbolize heaven). The cloud grows an eye (whose iris is the sun) and metamorphoses into the final hevn, which, as wirrow suggested, plays a flute.

Urth starts off as a water drop (the primordial waters). It too grows an eye (having the earth ball as an iris) and finally turns into the face which stands next to hevn within the yin yang symbol- formed by their hair (water and clouds).

Hevn plays the flute (pours its soul into it) and the melody “floats” towards urth, symbolically “infiltrates” its hand and comes out through its palm, metamorphosed into a rainbow. Each color of the rainbow takes the shape of stories (snake and apple, big fish eating small fish, etc)

The left side of the drawing is intentionally gray and white and the right one is colored to show the fact that only together the two can create something beautiful.

Sorry for the long description but I’m not completely satisfied with how some images look (I never knew it’s so hard to draw water and clouds X).

Japan is the country of my soul (next to Romania). From kenjutsu to literature, history and anime, everything that has to do with Japan is close to my heart. I’m concerned about my friends, one didn’t answer my mail, as I was asking if everything is alright. I got a postcard from another friend, she had sent it ONE DAY before the earthquake, saying it’s getting warm in Japan and that she wanted to come visit Romania soon ( I think that’s what she said…“Nihon ha atataku narimashita. Hayaku Romania ni ikitai desu”). This almost made me cry…

I found MCore’s song really touching and wanted to add to its melancholy by making a short movie using some of my favorite records here. It’s pretty clumsy and I couldn’t edit the audio right…but I tried to give my best.

I have resized some pics in order to make them fit and some proportions may be off, I hope it’s ok.

Soon I will revise this in order to name all resources since there are a lot of them…
