Banananne's RECommendations
This project grew out of my future of moving in the fall and a collection of bottle lids.
My dad loves entering soda sweepstakes, haha, and I always enter the codes for him and one day decided to just start collecting all the lids. For my move in the fall I wanted to create something hitRECord related and thought I could my bucket of lids finally to use. I printed out 64 of my favorite image records & mod podged them to the blue spray painted lids. I'm still not entirely sure how I'm going to arrange them in the end, so this isn't the final part of the project. (If you have any suggestions on ways to display them, let me know :) <3)
***note: still cleaning up resources - at first did it by #s hurriedly, so I'm sorry if I made a mistake & resourced you by accident! those should all be changed by now & still working to find 3 more resources that got lost in the mix :(***
Some of this video (about the tagging) is a little bit irrelevant now that I've worked out how to set it as a collaboration (horaay!) So stroll on down to my collaborations, and see 'rebecca rebecca rebecca' !
That is all...go crazy, do your thing, update in a few days.

The documentarian directing it is a guy named Roko Belic. He and I recently sat down to discuss how we can best throw our flavor into the mix.
Largely, it seems he's looking for dreamy visuals for cutaways. He mentioned five archetypal dreams and asked us to create visual/graphic/animated/cinematic interpretations.
1. Inappropriate Dress
2. Teeth Falling Out
3. Flying
4. Being Chased
5. Falling
If you want to shoot a whole short film out of any of these dreams, that's great. But it's also great to contribute your brick in the larger wall. Draw a picture, take a photo, animate a moment.
Also, Roko hasn't chosen any music yet, so the more dreamy sounding stuff we can throw his way, the more likely our tunes can make up this doc's score.
Also also, even if you don't make any videos, images or music, you can still really help by browsing through the RECords we've already got on our site and finding stuff you think might work for this project. Find dreamy, surreal, beautiful visuals -- still images are good, but video is even better. Find dreamy music or soundscapes. Compile an Album of the RECords you find, and contribute that album to the Collaboration.
I'm so grateful and happy to be a part of Inception -- I think you guys are really gonna love the movie. And I can't wait to see what we all make together.
Sleep to dream...

HITRECORD.ORG is a project I started almost five years ago now, and in 2010, we've evolved into a full-fledged professional collaborative production company.
On new year's day, I released this video called THE NEW DEAL in which I've layed out what I want to do with hitRECord, how we're going to do it, and why.
In a nutshell: we create and develop art and media collaboratively here on our site; we use my position in the traditional entertainment industry to turn that creativity into money-making productions; and then we share any profits with the contributing artists.
In a nutter shell, we just have fun making things together. Videos, writing, photography, music, anything -- we call them all RECords. Are you RECording?
again by heart...
VISUAL CUTAWAYS. For every idea I communicate, I'm hoping there's a visual to go along with it. I don't care if my face is hardly in this video at all. I just want there to constantly be more and more things to look at. So listen to what I'm saying, and when any particular thing I say strikes you, try to find a piece of video or a few images here on hitRECord that express the same thing. And cut that together. Or, if you don't have the video editing tools to cut them in yourself, just make an album of the RECords you think oughta be Resourced, write in your album's description which RECords go with which parts of the video, and contribute that album to the collaboration. And by the way, the connection between idea and visual doesn't have to be 100% explicitly obvious, as long as it's interesting.
MUSIC. Well this one's pretty clear. There's so much good music on here by now. Which pieces should we use? I'd say, each little subsection of the video should probably have its own musical RECord to go under it.
OTHER PEOPLE TALKING. I just RECorded the ideas and sentiments that I want visitors to encounter when they first arrive at the site. But it doesn't have to be me saying the whole thing. A lot of you guys have already said a lot of this stuff. Or you can RECord yourself saying it now. And it doesn't have to be in my words, as long as the idea/sentiment matches. I sort of got this process started at the very top of the video.
A lot of you guys have also already RECorded and reRECorded great versions of this welcome video. I know it's been a sorta lengthy process getting this together. But think about it, this is a really important video for us! As more and more people hear about our collaborative collective, we want more and more talented, skilled, cool artists to come work with us on our projects. And this is gonna be the first thing they see.
(NOTE for if/when you download/remix this video. I exported it with H.264 compression which makes it a manageable file size. But once you've downloaded it, you can up-convert it to Apple ProRes -- using an application like Mpeg Streamclip -- before importing into whatever editing software you use.)
