One day, when inspiration struck, like a lightning bolt, I decided to settle down in my workshop for the afternoon to create the very first "By Heart" Ring. I think there must be a little bit of magic here at hitRECord.org because I had a bit of an out of body experience whilst making the ring, and fully zoned out....

Anyway, the response to the ring has been truly overwhelming and I can't possibly thank all of you amazing hitRECorders ENOUGH!

However, here is my way of thanking you all, I thought I'd put together a fun little montage of the entire process of making a "By Heart" Ring. This specific ring went to our beloved Lula...

Since coming across the Lawrie Brewster/ Metaphorest Shadow Wonder phenomenon I've been fully and completely obsessed with it. The haunting melody, the loaded lyrical content, and then Chan Tatum's vocal layering all inspired me to push forward and really do something with Shadow Wonder so I could maybe stop obsessing about it???

Anyway, this is what I came up with...

When I saw this 'Reluctant Her' video I had to do SOMETHING! The way it's shot is so dreamlike and perfectly flowing, it's uber feminine to match her aura. It feels like your floating when you watch it and the it sounds and feels so intimate.

Anyway, I layered some macro images of florals I took because I felt like they went perfectly with the feeling of the song and the artfulness of the shot. Just layered in 3 different images for different parts of the song, figured it could be a nice jumping off point??

My goal here was to simulate space and nebulas etc in the most graceful way possible on moving film while still thinking a bit outside the box. Sean's song is gracefully haunting and I just wanted to capture that somehow, if at all possible...

This goes through a number of color series and is just a simple rough cut set to "Nebulullaby". I figured this could be easily manipulated and chopped up etc...

I hope someone can work their magic on this :)

This is my first attempt at stop motion animation...I wanted to do a fun and sort of whimsical take on deep space, and decided on using Grapefruit, Starfruit and a Lime, among other things :) Feel free to chop away at it :) Short and sweet.

Filmed some dance moments for the Dance Dance Collab, this particular one is a girl dancing on pointe :) I know this is a bit on the late side but I think it works really nicely with the beat of the song. Pay no attention to where the song falls in line with the video, I couldnt figure out how to select the portion of the song I wanted so I just begins from the beginning, so feel free to cut this up and paste it back together :)

Quick last min contribution to Dance Dance Repetition. The rhythmic stepping combination audio could possibly be used to enhance parts of the song as well...I felt the beats complimented each other, what do you think?
