Matt's Audio RECords
Here is a collection of my audio tracks.
- Unborn Heartbeat
Here is audio taken of my unborn baby's heartbeat. It beats at about 140 beats a minute (it takes a few seconds to get to the actual heartbeat in this audio clip.)
It's a life-changing experience to hear this for the first time and it's such an amazing sound.
- The Kick (Inception Rap)
See if you can catch some of the references to the movie and its characters.
Lyrics are in a separate RECord and REsourced below.
- Mind Extractors
There are some minor changes to the opening and I played around with Phonontek's beat a bit. I added sound effects to my verse but left Kam's verse as is.
I'll upload a separate RECord with the lyrics.
Any non-hitRECord sound effects are from here: http://www.a1freesoundeffects.com/
- BATTLEstars
Continuing to build off of lava_tornado's "feet first" and Babbish's "Battlin Beats." There's a verse by me in the middle. I decided to call this version "BATTLEstars" because I added some science fiction elements for whatever reason.
I basically integrated my verse into the "Battlestar Beat" RECord (REsourced below) but I did trim down a section of that and added some slight modifications, namely a ray gun sample from www.sounddogs.com.
- #McSuperfly Theme (Instrumental)
I'm working on a hip-hop theme to the fictionally insane Vincent McSuperfly, the rambunctious host of hitRECord's "REmix Theatre."
This is v1 of the beat. theboxset's "Buddy" has been heavily REmixed and I made room for several breaks where additional vocal samples will be added (including a "radio station identification" announcement.)
In the meantime, be on the lookout for the two McSuperfly "Haaaaaaa" samples. Those were fun to throw in to the mix.
Lyrics for the next stage of this track are in the works. I'll post what I have so far for verses.
All radio station samples are from www.sounddogs.com
- #McSuperfly Theme (v2)
McSuperfly in a tuxedo
That's when he sings "Sussudio" in the studio
With Julio Eglesias, the engineer
Take it back to "Tracks of My Tears"
For fears
Over the years
Pioneers came and went
The cement got a little too wet
I hit eject
And checked the connection
RE: ressurection
-
BOOM!
Back on the track
Vincent's like Burt Bacharach
Yo
He's hooked on phonics
And trickle down economics
Yeah, he's like Johnny Mnemonic
All supersonic, bionic
And catatonic
Highly illogical
Methodical
Psychological thriller
The bone chiller
The reel-to-realer
The nightmare dealer
From coast to coast
He's the host with the most ghosts
In an trench coat
And aviator glasses
Remix Theatre
It causes disasterous computer crashes
- College featuring KamPAIGN
Remixed KamPAIGN's "vision acca" into a remix of HashbrownStephens' "What's a matta you?" beat.
The instrumental remix is uploaded separately and is in the Resources bin.
- College (Instrumental)
I added some xylephone and keyboard samples over a loop from HashbrownStephens' "What's a matta you?" record.
- Light Years (Time Travel Attraction)
I have a thing for sci-fi rap, so I remixed Grammer's acapella from "Dream Girl" and rearranged his lyrics to go with the remix I did of nalonpatrick's "burrow" instrumental.
- Heavy Resistance (Rough Draft)
Just fuckin around with Asylum 7 & Eddie Logix's "Resistance." REmixed the instrumental again and threw in a verse and some sound effects from Jordan Johari's "MONOCTOBER" RECord.
I do all my audio editing in Final Cut so my options for voice distortion are limited, clearly evident in my inability to match the same kind of effects on Asylum 7's voice. This'll have to be considered a rough draft, or a "v1" as they say.
I'll post lyrics separately.
- A New Hevn (Teaser Audio)
Assembled an abridged version of RegularJOE'sreading of wirrow's "A New Hevn" and rearranged portions of Johnnyclyde's "Electric Winter" to form a teaser of the complete story.
- The RECord Cycle
Remixed the stems from "Night Owl Drums Amped" by theboxsets and sampled dialogue and various audio bytes from "Sound and the Story (1956)" from the public domain. Figured it would make an interesting contribution to "The Vinyl Collaboration."

The folowing Public Domain footage was used:
"Sound and the Story (1956)" - http://www.archive.org/details/SoundAndTheS
Â
- Jail of Patterns
RegularJOE's "Patterns & Prayers" gets REmixed and then clashes with a REmix of Malicore's "Jail of Love."
Tradition! RE/RE/REpetition! Rhythm!
The following Public Domain sample was used:
"Alex Jones Interviews David Lynch (February 2, 2007)"
http://www.archive.org/details/AlexJonesInterviewsDavidLynch
- Life is But a Dream and the Earth Goes Round
I sampled OldTapeGhost's "Beyond the Zero" instrumental and did some changes to the beat. Then I heavily REmixed la.jeune.vieillesse's "Roving Away" reading with several REoccurring themes:
"Life is but a dream"
"The Earth goes round"
"Listen to the sounds"
"Plant your feet on the ground"
"From cities to towns, they drown out the stars"
- Lab Rat (Instrumental)
A hip-hop beat constructed out of samples from ruary's "Black Sponge." This is a base layer that can be extended with new sounds or arrangements or it can be added to as is.
- Electric Sheep Beat: v1
I'd especially like to see some dialogue samples and additional sound effetcs to the arrangement. Who's up for it?!
- evolution REvolutionaries
Heavily REmixed evolver1980's "Evolution of Rhyme" acapella and lava_tornado's "yellow light" instrumental into one old school-type track.
This could definitely use additional sound effects and instruments. Join in!
- Hong Kong (Instrumental)
Here's a track I put together by remixing "sleep sleep deep" by theboxsets and sampling "The Yin and the Yang of Mr. Go."
I cut some video to this remix for my 11.27.11 RE/RE/RE-RECommendations, but here is the audio isolated for the community to play around with.
The following Public Domain movie was sampled:
"The Yin and the Yang of Mr. Go" - http://www.archive.org/details/TheYinandtheYangofMr.Go
- "Herringbone Hat" (Live!)
I've been working on a live "stage reading" version of rcjohnso's "The Man In the Herringbone Hat" featuring the voices of Philip Baker Hall and Channing Tatum for quite some time now.
This latest version (the 4th incarnation on my end) has more auditorium ambience (theatregoers entering and getting situated, the orchestra tuning their instruments, etc.) than previous ones. Additionally, there are now sound effects added to the production.
- no dreams again
Rearranged elements of Erfo's "No Dreams" and theboxsets' "True2theGame80 BPM" and combined them into a hip-hop narrative of sorts.
This could use additional sounds and some visuals.
- KREC Your Freakin' Radio (Stinger #1)
First attempt at a stinger for KREC.
- KREC Subvert Your Radio (Stinger #2)
This stinger features a sample from rebellious found footage filmmaker Craig Baldwin, found here:
"Channel Zero: Craig Baldwin" - http://www.archive.org/details/baldwin
- KREC Morgan-ized Radio (Stinger #3)
Combined some elements from the stingers by OmarFace and Erfo, as well as a sample from "Morgan M. Morgansen's Date With Destiny," to link the new result to hitRECord a bit further.
- "The Peff Lab" *BEAT*
- The Peff Lab (v1)
This is titled "(v1)" because I'd like to build on this add add other verses to it.
As it stands now, my verse ends and there are some slight police radio effects that could serve as a transition into a new rap verse (and as Shaq declared on a track with The RZA: "We don't need no hooks.")
So, anyone who wants to join in on this - PLEASE DO. I looped the beat for quite a bit and at around the two minute mark it goes into the final break and fades out with a few more sound effects.
Note: I used mostly sound effects by artists on hitRECord. A few I got from this royalty free site: http://www.a1freesoundeffects.com/
- RE-RECommend Beat
Quick 9 second beat for the weekly RE-RECommendation collaboration. Maybe this could be used in a promo for the collaboration or for the intro to people's weekly RE-REC videos.
- Downtown 81 (Space-for-Verse Mix)
Here's a new mix of the hip-hop tune "Downtown 81" by Kenneth Masters. A few elements have been rearranged here and there but I was able to loop part of the instrumental and place the bars right in the middle so now, if one were so inclined, a new vocalist can add in their verse pretty seamlessly.
- The Bomb Dot Com Theme
- Rap RECord
A lot had to be trimmed to fit the new arrangement but I wanted the end to showcase all the laughs that went into the making of the original resource.
I especially like the verse switch over around :24 or so when the cymbals start to kick in.
- Glory-x-
Jumped in on the evolution of Lizzienrose's "Glorious" by adding to the latest version by Metaphorest. I integrated elements of danipen's "Untitled rap/hip hop beat" into the mix here and there.
- Summer/Fall
Combined elements of tonguecutsparrow's remix of hangLOOSE's "Spring/Summer" with a bunch of the stems from theboxset's "Venice Beach beat and stems."
I could see this getting built on further with some bass, additional drums, perhaps a few cymbals here and there, maybe some seasonal ambience, and whatever else your heart may desire.
- "The Prize" KREC Request
Had to throw in an homage to "Enter the 36 Chambers" with this request for the rayperez/RegularJOE song "The Prize."
Here is the additional lines of dialogue that would be needed:
* "So what's up man?"
* "Why?"
* "Yeah."
* "What you wanna hear?"
* "Ray Perez again?!"
- Automator Beat (MC Cut v1)
Whipped together a remix of Automator's "Collage Song v1."
Primary additions are bells, strings, piano notes, and rewind/fast forward effects. In some spots I played around with the transitions in tone and rearranged a few bits here and there.
- Tavern Double-Cross (Audio)
Figured there would probably be a shady double-cross going down at the tavern during the "Words We're Wailing" performance.
- Matt's Thank You
- Mind-Frame
Did a lot of clipping and rearranging to evolver1980's "nuclear blast(acapella)" track in order to get it to mesh with Albert's "Stems - Memory fade (beat v1)" record.
Audio samples are from the following Public Domain link:
"Invasion of the Body Snatchers trailer"
http://www.archive.org/details/InvasionOfTheBodySnatchersTrailer
- the universe /or bust/
Played around with eaneikciv's "the [uni]verse is us" stems and integrated HashbrownStephens' beat from "What's a matta you?" into a quasi hip-hop mix.
- Constance featuring EgoHimself
Remixed an acapella record by EgoHimself and put it into an instrumental I remixed out of "Dusty Drums by Sas 2" (the beat without vocals is resourced below.)
- Constance (Instrumental)
Here is the instrumental I remixed together using "Dusty Drums by Sas 2" and a synth organ.
Here are the stems for my "Automator Beat (MC Cut v1)."
There are two separate .wav files in the ZIP folder.
1) The additional sound effects
2) The remixed beat
Note:
The two files should be in synch time-wise.

Note:
Zip Files are useful for upload and downloading raw resources in native formats like Photoshop, Illustrator, high-quality Video and Audio projects, and batches of stem files.
However:
When downloading, please remember to use caution opening any files downloaded from the internet if you don't recognize the filetype.
- Fall Formal Scratch Intro
Put together this remixing audio from "Fall Formal 2011 Intro Video," portions of "Kid Koala Scratches hitRECord," and some additional turntable effects.
This could be used for a bumper or intro to a particular video segment from the evening.
- Feed Your Tape Deck
Remixed a loop from madshell's "Draw Me a Picture (Revised)" and bits from evolver1980's "EVOLUTION OF RHYME FT. AWOL ONE" into a new song.
- Cardboard World (Instrumental)
Remixed the stems of RyanPatrick's "Catboard Beat Stems" into a new arrangement.
