Uploading your illustrative contributions as layered .PSD files to the "Iterations" Short Film collaboration will really help to speed up the animation process of this film. You can also remix contributions to the collaboration by cutting and layering them into .PSD files and re-uploading them in ZIP folders. For examples of this, please refer to these records by MarieIv & Kubi: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/994251 http://www.hitrecord.org/records/994371 == Resident Director fajigajiga has provided some notes to keep in mind when uploading your "Iterations" illustrations as layered .PSD files: * One thing that is key for me is keeping the edges of the individual objects. For illustrations that are on green backgrounds, using Keylight in After Effects is a good way to remove it while maintaining the edges. * For areas that can't be keyed out, duplicating the layer and creating a mask around the areas that are not keying out right is a great way to preserve both those areas and the edges. On the duplicated layer, turn off Keylight once you have the masks in place. * If the illustration doesn't have a green background, then the magic wand tool in Photoshop is the best way to go. Simply select the colored background, refine the selection, and then copy & paste. Then all the empty spaces can be selected with the wand tool and that selection can be used to cut out the base layer and create a new one. * If all the layers could be named with a description that would also be really great and extremely helpful. == You can contribute all of your records regarding "Iterations" here: http://www.hitrecord.org/records/988659 == Thanks! |
