I am a pastry chef (Cupcake Queen) and barista (Latte Lady).

For a long time, I was stuck in job after job that I hated. I never fit in and never had coworkers who understood me or could even properly communicate with me.

At my last job, I managed to have at least one companion who accepted me. My new best friend- the Captain I eventually called her- was like my missing link. As bakers, we required a great deal of skill. It was almost always certain that if one of us did not know something, the other would. We were perfect- our workplace was not.

A multitude of circumstances associated with the business made it unbearable. We had to find something better. We needed an outlet where we could be appreciated for our skills as a team.

In what seemed like a flash, another coworker informed us of a new grocer who was mass hiring. We decided we would form a mass exodus. Nearly every member of the former location planned their escape. Only six were lucky enough to make it on.

My Captain and I had found what we always dreamed of.

My Captain could bake the goods and I could decorate them. We were prefect. We are perfect.
