Since I joined Mary Kay Cosmetics and became a Beauty Consultant, my life has been an intense training of know all the company products, learn their functionality and learn how to offer it to people. But that’s basic. After all, to perform your job successfully, you need to know exactly what you’re doing. As a Beauty Consultant, my job is not only to sell cosmetics. It is to help my customer feel better with herself, which makes me my first and most important customer. Besides that I need test and use the products in myself to guarantee 100% of quality, I need to have self esteem. And I do. But I was really impressed to know how much women don’t. When I invite two or three women to my beauty sessions, where they can try out the products and see in themselves what they do, I have the most satisfying feeling. My customers look at me, completely happy, and say “thank you for everything”. I found that funny because it’s me who needs to thank them, after all, they are buying of me. For me, as a woman, helping other women feel more beautiful is absolutely fantastic. When you’re confident, you get anything you want. So yes, to sell self esteem is completely possible, but the payment is not always made of money. |
