For the childhood collaboration
Although I was firmly ensconced in tomboy-ness until I hit puberty, I *loved* my purple velvet princess dress. The bodice was made with leftover material from my mother's wedding dress (I didn't know that until 20 years later). The purple velvet came from the wall paneling of my parents' master bedroom. It came down the minute we moved in. And they painted over the purple splattered stucco walls too. I was really disappointed. I thought it was the height of beauty.
