Ryan is at a carnival by herself. She walks around aimlessly, watching other people interact and laugh together. She stops in front on the Funhouse, considers for a moment, and enters. The Funhouse is full of mirrors, some representing distorted images and others representing a relative reality. Ryan walks toward an image of herself she recognizes. She stares at herself and thinks, “My arms are so long. They look like spaghetti. What’s wrong with me?” As she ponders this, the figure she assumed to be her reflection walks away from her. She looks after it, shocked. She follows the person and sees her exit the funhouse. Ryan is flabbergasted for a moment, but shrugs and continues walking through the funhouse. She finds another familiar reflection. She thinks, “Okay, so my arms aren’t nearly as long as I thought. But my hair! It’s like someone overturned an empty bread basket on my head.” As she shakes her head at this and puts her hands in her hair, the reflection just stares back at her. She stops abruptly and leans forward. She waves one hand. The reflection smiles and waves back, and walks out of the Funhouse. Ryan just stares after her, and starts to walk out of the Funhouse as well. On the way out, there is a final undistorted reflection. She hesitates to turn toward it on her way out of the door. She turns and stares into it. “I don’t look half bad,” she thinks with a smile, and walks out of the Funhouse.
