Things had gotten better it seemed. After one year of being unemployed and feeling like the walls were closing in, something happened. She had heard of moments, where people would reach out to others, in hopes of catching some kind of break. Why not take the chance? It only took a minute or two to reach out to hundreds of people. And like two needles in the haystack, she heard word.

Of course, as she figured, once she focused on getting one aspect of her life together, another seemed to blur into the background. She remembered a line her sister told her once: If you have one leg in the past...and one in the future, you're pissing all over today. So instead of thinking about how she hoped some things were different, she decided to focus on the present.
