What did you expect.

We had warnings

We all heard the philosophers, the proverbs, heard our elders warning us about wasting time.

We watched our world dying, and ignored it.

We pretended it wasn't happening, like death didn't exist.

Only some took heed and tried, begged to make our leaders listen, to no avail.

I did not listen. Though I think we all knew where our actions would lead us.

Why bother changing when the rest of the world doesn't give a shit.

We destroyed each other, and ourselves. sex and power and money took preference over anything, and now it is all we are, all i am.

We killed each other and ourselves, and going back, we would do it all over again, because we are human and we destroy, we are animals, with too much power

Despite this, and ourselves, we will never change.

And now we suffer in silence and static, not speaking of what we have done because we know, and it is over.

This is what we are and we can't go back.

We have all died in our own way, and our children will be born with a piece of them missing, because so much of ourselves is now gone.

We will soon descend into nothing, no more than animals in the darkness, and it will be the end as it began.

Is this world really any worse off than before

Just sex and static.
