RECord your moment of Courage
Courage is not the absence of fear, but the judgement that something else is more important than fear. -Ambrose Hollingworth Redmoon.
Miss.Hunter* encourages you to do something new, scary and courageous. as do I. As does Teafaerie**. Courage and new are some of my/our favourite things.
Are you about to do something courageous? Difficult? Scary? Challenging? Anything that you need to work up the nerve to do?
Give birth? Bungee jump? Ask the boss for a raise? Propose marriage? Give a public speech? Sing karaoke? Conquer your fear of spiders? Break up with your partner? Tell your parents you're gay? Defend your thesis?
You can be 6 years old and wanting to jump from the high-dive or 106 years old and about to meet your long-long-ago-given-up-for-adoption biological daughter (or jump from the high-dive). It's about the moment of personal courage required to tackle this feat, not about the objective magnitude of it...
RECord your moment of courage. Or get a buddy to help you. Or offer to RECord someone else's courage. You (or they) are displaying an exemplary part of being human. Share it. Inspire others.
We'll all help celebrate your triumph of spirit.
Depending on what's appropriate for your big situation, make RECords before and/or during and/or after the big moment. If the situation gets too intense, always be willing to stop RECording.
I always recommend, and especially in this case, volunteering to delete any pictures your subject asks me to.
Courage RECords can be still photos, video, audio, hand drawings, poems, or just about anything else.
