04-21-1998 Lookin' in on a wavy world, Wonderin' why no one bothered To give a good god damn about A small happy yellow fishy living all by himself In a small sunny aquarium With no one to talk to but me. I get a pang of frustration as I head myself out into a world where people Leave their fishies all by themselves without any Rocks or playgrounds or little happy fishies to play with. I headed out to the pet store and said to the guy behind the register, "My fish needs somebody, everybody needs somebody," And he just looked like I was a freak and pointed to the Corner of the small smelly store. Lookin' in on a wavy world, hopin' little fishy knows I'll be comin' back home to him soon. I get him some glowing blue rocks and a small sparkly castle for Fishy's big sparklin' dreams. I pay for my junk at the register and turn my back on the small smelly store That doesn't seem to care about my lonely little fishy Swimming at home all alone. The whole way home I'm wonderin' if he's ok, If the sun is shining in on his world. So I get home, I give him his rocks and his small sparkly castle And I see that he's swimming around just as he always has. Lookin' in on a wavy world Some trivia bite comes to mind: Fishy has a three second memory. Fishy doesn't know anything. And the sun is shining in his eyes. |
