Hey guys!
I've noticed a lot of really cool designs going up. One thing I've noticed though, is that a lot of them have been relying on the design going very close to the edges of the shirts and totes and such, in order to make it look sharp. Now, if this took designs out of the running, I'm sure Marke and Co. would have said something. So I'm guessing they have a printer in mind that can print these types of designs.
BUT!
I think it would be cool to see some more designs that don't rely on a full bleed, especially for tank tops.
If you don't know how screenprinting works, there's a 'safe area' that is a certain distance away from the edges. T-shirts and totes and things can definitely be printed outside of those areas, but doing so ups the production costs. It's cheaper to print things that don't touch the edges and fall in a central area on the shirt/tote.
So my suggestion is for more designs that stay away from the edges and around the central area of the template. You can still make some of these dynamic designs work, by fading them out so that they blend into the t-shirt colour. It will just give them more options when it comes to selecting less expensive to print designs (and thus, cheaper for us to purchase!)
Marke's t-shirt template from the last collection has a red box on it that shows the area to stay within. Some more designs that do that would be cool!
