experimenting with cutting up bits of sound again
everything flows sweetly when you slow down
unwind all your tapes and dance to ghost sounds
i'm in another world, and you're breaking up
but i'll call you soon.. if i make it back
this is a song a song a song i made :D
ghosts of you are
singing softly
through the walls and
under floorboards.
goodnight sweet princes and princesses,
may flights of angels with umbrellas shield your sacred heads from rain
as you flow sweetly on your way.
our lives will never be the same..
i used to fly with peter pan
in videoland
and i saw people coming out from underground.
gather up you silent searchers
and lets go loudly
into quiet churches
lets surround the walls
of guarded buildings and make our sound.
lets invade palaces, they are always around
when we sing out their anthems
but not when we drown
in video lala
kind of a war song

warning.. this gets pretty cacophonic towards the end.
its more of an experiment than a melody
i wanted this to sound church-like.. does that make sense? :/ lately i've have had this poem in my head constantly.. especially the last part. so i made this song. not very happy with vocals so if anyone wants to sing it i will upload the instrumental.
lyrics:
Repeating rhythms, Tracing traditions
Stealing scales and cutting chords and making history of prehistoric patterns, coming back up and out of our shells,
from our hearts, whose every beat is a prayer
There's something I love, I swear something's there.
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
a pattern, a prayer
once i saw the colours move
and once i saw the monsters groove
you can't go outside like that
they said
the bees will all devour your honey head
but i didnt care
just a little bit anxious...
just give me a second to explain my honey head
please don't freak out about my honey head
i chose to be this way
gwen's loop of lala's and breathing is the most amazing record ive heard on this website.
i justt heard this song without headphones after i uploaded it:/ it's kinda raw and not sung well.. but the reason is because i felt a ridiculously intense need to play along with the loop. i'll definitely be making more things out of this.
the title is my nod to the wonderful sparklehorse. "it's a sad and beautiful life" r.i.p
we can be star-ways, upside down-ways, any way you like
we see moons n suns where others see the city lights
i know you like the fear, ive seen your eyes light up
when theres a human sacrifice. i know you like to panic
and ring the alarms
but we are superloving creatures and we mean you no harm
you're never alone, you know..
it's a wonderful life
made this to loop quite seamlessly.. for those times u want to feel like ur floating for a while :]
i cut up bits of megan's beautiful song. i have a complicated relationship with these 4 chords.
its 64bpm [or 128]
just added some random melody to it..
i wanted to play this on piano but its too loud for 4am so i went guitar/headphones route
i can make rock songs too you know.. really loud ones! and i will!
one day..
find it very scary to release a record lately unless it's perfect:/ and in that fear i almost forgot that i hate perfect stuff.. so im going the opposite way and i just recorded this quickly in one take and wrote some quick lyrics and left it loudly unpolished. crappy laptop mic and crappy first guitar i ever owned. im going all Guided by Voices on this shit.
note to ears: pls dont be too pissed off with me.. i happen to find despicably lo-fi and overdriven melodies quite lovely
back from travels soon and will rejoin the recommunity :D
"your stars are exploding slowly
and unslowly
dont be scared my love
dont lay down your heart
spin around like a master of arts"
