The Exciting Adventures of Batling and Tiger In Their Battle Against the Evil Trash-eating Giant Robot

This is the first draft. The beauty of text records is that I can revise it on this one if any changes need to be made!

Obviously, this needs to be illustrated; it's intended for a picture book kinda layout.

The formatting: each paragraph is a new page (whether it is a single or double depends on the illustrations/text layout!), and each line is a split, to be spread out/separated across the page. (You know what I mean by that, right?)

Batling knew that the Giant Robot was going to be a problem,
right from the moment his mother brought it home
and put it in the corner of the kitchen.

Of course, he wasn’t Batling at the time.
He was in his disguise, as a seven-year-old boy called Bartholomew.

And his sidekick, the amazing Tiger, was undercover too: as his cat, Cub.

Batling knew it was only a matter of time
before the Giant Robot threatened to eat everything, like it ate their trash.
So he and Tiger prepared themselves.

They planned their strategies,
working out where the Robot’s weak spots were.

They trained hard,
so that they were both strong enough to beat the Robot.

And they practiced working as a team.

Batling always kept an eye on the Robot,
so that he and Tiger could stop it as soon as it tried anything.

It happened on a Sunday.

The Giant Robot, filled with trash, started to roar,
and started destroying the city.

It stomped and chomped
and everyone fled in terror.

But not Batling and Tiger.
This was the moment they had been waiting for.

In an instant, they were in their capes, and were protecting everyone from the flying trash and the Robot’s jaws.

Only they knew where to hit the Robot.
Only they knew how to defeat him.

Tiger leapt around it, hitting one of its blind spots.

While it was distracted,
Batling flew at its front, denting its metal plating.

And together, Batling and Tiger both launched at the Robot, knocking it over!

The crash and clatter of the trashcan
toppling against the kitchen floor
was too much for Bartholomew’s mother.

She came into the kitchen and told him to take Cub up to his room,
so that they could both calm down.

As much as Batling pleaded,
his mother would not let him stay to truly defeat the Robot.

And as Batling and Tiger went out of the kitchen,
his mother picked up the trashcan and put it back in its place.

Batling knew that,
although he and Tiger had almost beaten the Giant Robot,
this wouldn’t be the last time that they would have to face it.
