Oh man I remember trying to figure out Apophysis back in the day. Maybe it's because I had no idea how to properly use it but my renders always turned out really grainy.

I always like how these fractals look like something organic you'd find under a microscope.

I have no idea how it was made, but it's absolutely gorgeous. I think it is already perfect, but I'm sure it can be remixed by graphic designers and\or illustrators, also, I think it can be animated in some abstract style, like flickering texture. More than 2500x1900 pixels, and very detailed if you download it.
