Screeching and purring,

Down pipes,

Down

Down years.

Lasting, not resting,

Into the dream, the hope,

That this is simple.

This is easy.

I take a swig,

You pour over another assumed,

And pop culture angels hum us into a daze.

I wake into the night,

It’s when I find the melodies are loudest.
