I thought to outrun my grief but it was still there when I turned around
turning me to salt again
the ruins behind me are encroaching despair spreads like a contagion
in this waste land where there was a city once, ghost town of my heart.
blood of my eyes, I worship at your feet tell me what to do. break me, I am broken.
command me, I am nameless and seeking absolution.
tell me what is the story of icarus did we fly too close to the sun
surely, we have brought this upon ourselves. |
