This is just a little morality play thingy I had to write. I've never written anything like this before and it had to be a certain length, so it probably jumps about to quickly, but I thought I'd upload it in case it inspired any character creations or remix ideas. i like the idea of creating a children's book and DVD of stories and songs.

Scene 1 

Interior of the home of Mister Pessimistic and Lady Optimistic.

[Enter MISTER PESSIMISTIC AND LADY OPTIMISTIC.]

MISTER PESSIMISTIC. Just leave me be to what I am. It is my life, dear wife!

If I've told you a once, I've told you a twice. And I won't tell you again!

I don't buy into your bells and whistles, your light-hearted delight.

Because things always disappoint and nothing's ever right. 

What's the use in being happy when you'll just be brought back down.

Just what do you except me to do, dance around like a silly clown?

LADY OPTIMISTIC. Oh, I wish for just one second, you would think about your words,

And realize what your saying and that you sound absurd.

And see how those words hurt me, and how they've made us grow apart.

There was a time, not long ago, that love was in your heart,

And now I often wonder, if what you once felt for me, 

has been replaced with disappointment and blue melancholy. 

One day something will happen and you'll see what you could cause, 

With your pessimistic attitude, judging all the worlds flaws. 

[Exit LADY OPTIMISTIC.]

Scene 2 

Lady Optimistic's beautiful garden overflowing with bright flowers.

[Enter LADY OPTIMISTIC.]

LADY OPTIMISTIC. Oh my dear husband, how I wish he would come to, 

But he always seem to mope about, making himself blue. 

He does not see the miracles, that each day of life can bring. 

He won't let go of what he's lost and let new life begin. 

Gratitude and thankfulness is not something he shows, 

Sad but true, he lacks these things, this I surely know. 

I try to teach him what I know, that happiness is powerful. 

And that each day is our alone, to make the world's small miracles. 

Here in my garden, the unhappy are not found.

Because the blues and sadness will bring my flowers down.

CHORUS 1. Oh, sweet Lady Optimistic! You're thoughts are always mystic!

Each and every day, you brighten us in many ways. 

With your positive influence, it's an honor in your presence. 

We are Hope, Faith and Belief!

LADY OPTIMISTIC. Oh my dear sweet friends, I'll be with you 'til the end. 

[speaking under her breath]

I must make sure to keep you safe, away from old harms play. 

And that is why I lock the door, when I must go away. 

If any pessimistic were to come creep up to the gate, 

Their negative emotions would surely be of hate. 

Causing an unbalance, oh! An unhappy, grumpy thief. 

This would cause destruction to my Hope, Faith and Belief.

[Exit LADY OPTIMISTIC.]

Scene 3 

Exterior of Lady Optimistic's garden. 

[Enter RAIN CLOUD.]

RAIN CLOUD. When ever I come around, I see the others frown  

because I seem to be, associated with negativity.

[Enter LITTLE BOY BLUE AND LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE]

LITTLE BOY BLUE. Each time I look up into the sky, a rain cloud's always passing by. 

No umbrella by my side, I may as well go back inside and hide. 

Nothing ever goes my way, no one ever wants to play. 

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. Oh, you silly boy! I would love to play, 

That is, if you didn't mope about all day. 

Oh look! What is this? It is Lady Optimistic's garden up ahead. 

But, wait..... why are all the flowers dead???

[Enter CHORUS 2.]

CHORUS 2. Oh me, oh my! Mister Pessimistic went inside! 

It seems his bad energy and negativity, 

Brought the flowers to their knees! 

It was indeed a sad scene to see, 

And now Mister Pessimistic is weeping heavily. 

Oh! Here comes Lady Optimistic! She is running frantically!

LADY OPTIMISTIC. Oh No! How could this be? 

My sweet darling flowers have died of melancholy! 

Mister Pessimistic! I warned you this day would come.

But who knew it would be my flowers who were the ones undone.

[aside] Wait, I can't act as he would do.

I must make sure to stay positive, although my heart is blue.

[to Mister Pessimistic] Please don't cry, instead, try to smile for awhile.

I ask you this sacrifice as your wife; we may find this gives them back life.

[Mister Pessimistic looks up and gazes into his wife's kind eyes. From the corner of his mouth begins a long awaited smile.]

RAIN CLOUD. What the others don't seem to see,

Is that once I pass, beauty comes to be.

For what I bring in passing time,

Is my dear friend, Rainbow, by and by and by.

[Enter RAINBOW.]

RAINBOW. Farewell sweet Rain Cloud friend!

Until we meet again and again and again!

[Exit RAIN CLOUD.]

[As the Rainbow looks over them, Mister Pessimistic, Lady Optimistic, Little Boy Blue and Little Miss Sunshine all stand together in the garden holding hands. They begin to hum pleasantly, filling their hearts with thoughts of Hope, Faith and Belief. Suddenly, the flowers begin to brighten up. Soon they are standing tall, once again, full of life.]

CHORUS 1. Oh hello friends! We must have fallen into a deep sleep!

It is so great to see you smiling joyfully! 

Mister Pessimist and Little Boy Blue, we've never had the pleasure,

Of seeing you un-blue. We're so happy that you've come around,

To visit us on our home ground, where frowns are not allowed.

We are so pleased to have us all together, 

We stand strong with Hope, Faith and Belief, forever!

Scene 4

Interior of the home of Mister Pessimistic and Lady Optimistic.

MISTER PESSIMISTIC. My wife, you were right, I indeed feel life more bright,

When I look at the positive side, and takes things more in stride.

I now understand the importance of positivity,

And see the great effect it has on you and me.

LADY OPTIMISTIC. Well I'm glad you finally see, the effect it has on you and me.

And don't forget, it effects your children too

Little Miss Sunshine and Little Boy Blue!

You just never know what life will bring you,

Keep up the optimistic attitude and good things will continue.

You just might be pleasantly surprised at what you find after awhile,

If you keep an open heart and a present an honest smile.
