Thinking about the tale of Little Red Ridding Hood,
this is what I saw:
if the Little Red had followed the advice (order) of her mother,
if she had been stayed on the path,
she didn't seek and would not have lived the adventure.

There would be no history, nothing interesting to tell.

While in taking another path, through the woods,
she will perhaps find great dangers,
but she'll be able to face the world, confronting life.

Go out of the path allows to the girl especially to:
Choose her own path, riding in the wood,
Discover the wonders of the forest,
Encounter difficulties, to fight, learn, grow, rise,
Live an experience that will help her to know herself, see what she can do.

She will also learn about the wolf and the forest,
knowledges she can pass on to her children.

Her history is useful, it wouldn't have been if the girl had stayed on the road established by others...
