ACCURATE MEASURING FOR DANCE AROUND THE WORLD

Note about measurements: I do NOT intend for people to post their measurements/sizes in a public forum. So rest assured, I will provide a private place and I will be the only one who knows anyone's personal information. And let me warn you: EVERYONE thinks their measurements sound HUGE the first time they do them.

In fact we have a system in costuming to spare actors their egos: The costumer taking the meaurements will hold up either 1, 2 or 3 fingers as they begin. The assistant writing down the measurements will see how many fingers the costumer held up - let's say 2 for this example. And then as the Costumer calls out the measurements to be written down, they say a measurement TWO INCHES smaller than the actual one and the assistant writes down a measurement two inches larger than what was said aloud. That way meauring is recorded quickly and acurately and the actress does not run off on a starvation diet.

SO - a lot of the famous people measurements you hear about are simply what the actor THINKS they measure - add up to 3 inches and that's what they ACTUALLY measure! And if it makes any of you feel better, I will send you my measurements in return :^) Privately. LOL.

So I am, at Erika's keen suggestion, providing a link to my "Fitting" video from the Costumed Cohorts Collab. (It's a REsource on this RECord.) It is VERY long and very informative. But it is NOT the level of detail I will need from you guys. It's just something, if you're curious about professional custom fitting and how a 2-dimensional fabric can be made into a 3-dimensional copy of YOU, it''s there if you want to watch it. :^)

Thank you!
