Calling all poets and lovers of poetry!

I thought it would be a fun/cool/helpful idea if there was a collaboration to workshop our poetry. Post your poem here for feedback, suggestions, tips, general help. Remix posted poems to add a new spin and give the author some ideas! All forms welcome! Free verse, sestina, haiku, sonnet whatever. In any case lets have fun and improve our craft!

I'll feature one of the poems and then we'll workshop it. Give your ideas on what works in the poem and what doesn't work. Leave a suggestion for how to change things to make the poem read clearer and convey it's message better. Post a review/remix or leave a comment on the piece for the author to see.

I was on my way to nowhere deep in thought

when I tripped and stumbled on a rock.

Oh simple stone how I envy you,

pain and heart ache you never knew.

Nothing to prove,

no appointments to keep,

you don’t even have to remember to breathe.

Upon further inspection I begin to see,

we are so much alike, you and me.

Rained on and pounded down by life’s storms

that smoothed, polished, and shaped us into unique form.

Then along comes someone who kicks us aside

into our destined path we neglected to find.
