Augustus the apple

Stumbled upon a dapple

A dapple of light

Peeking through the night

He stopped and winced

And became convinced

That the sight was nothing more

Than a lonely dance floor

So he shook and swaggered

He swayed and staggered

Until his feet were swollen and sore

Suddenly, Augustus awoke

But his heart was not broke

Because he always knew

That his dreams would come true

Augustus the apple

Would someday dance in his dapple
