Turnipheadcrash

The demise of our dear Fred. I'd love to see someone put it to a street background.

I was going to crush his hat as well, but then decided that there was a bit more eerie impact if his head was smashed and the hat was sitting by innocently, unscathed.

    omg fred!
this is really great - i agree about the hat - does have more impact if it's just sitting there and he is all squished....

    Hey dreamcoach,
Yep, pen and ink for the drawing and Prismacolor pencils for the color. I didn't actually use a grained paper; the paper I used was just regular fine paper I took from my printer. I was drawing on a glass surface-- very smooth as well. Not sure why I got the grainy texture; maybe cause i applied very little pressure and went over it a few times? I just started drawing again after 10 yrs, so I don't have experience with how to recreate the texture! I used to draw w/ these pencils back in high school, and I recall that I always got that grainy shading. Give it a try-- light pressure for larger areas, and hard direct pressure for shadow points/ intersections between objects. Hope I get to see what you do!

    Hi there,
I would really like to get some matching backgrounds together in your style. Can I check: did you use a grained paper and pencils in addition to the pen & ink?
