This is a little different than from what i usually do. This is inspired by Marielv's animations.

It's still a work in progress, but i'm heading off to school and can't finish it. I ended it too abruptly, I wasn't sure how to visualize the last to verses of the poem.

Hey, tell me what you think of my concept in my records. I'm looking around for an animator to work with. Let me know what you think.

Love the tone as well. Great job on staying "off the nose." you've accomplished one of the hardest aspects of any type of story telling. I for one will be using your current work as a lead and building on it along with Joe's direction/notes.

    Nice job!

    Sweet
I like the paisley background on the street. Not so much for a backdrop though, so I agree with Joe on that one, even though I like paisley. :)
Very well done so far, and I cannot wait to see the final results.
I was having a little trouble on finding the right visuals for the ending too, but then I remembered that Joe had suggested that we throw in some of the clips of Gary Oldman doing his recitiation. So, don't forget about those clips. Just a thought, but I think it makes a nice ending, as well as a nice introduction to the animation. That is how I planned my clips, so I could go from here to there and back to reality again. :)

This is so good, yet so sad. It really drives the story home. I wish this story had a better ending though. Maybe someone can add something where someone else has a flaw, learns from Fred's mistake and stands up for his/herself.

Agree with Joe. My favourite thing is how a lot of the action is represented rather than literally played out. Heart!

Wow, thanks for the hearts everyone!

@juliegmaudlin: I use after effects for the animation stuff, and gimp to break the turnip man into parts for animating. I do all of this work on a pc, i'm not sure what you could use on a mac. If you find out, let me know!

@regularJoe: yeah, i was thinking it was distracting too, but I wasn't sure. I'll try and upload a .zip file of everything so others can work on it and add more.

I love this. I've been glued to my laptop since I joined a few days ago - all of this work is so inspiring! I'd love to give animation a try sometime - what program do you use? Is there any decent freeware for the Mac that would be suitable for a beginner?
