I've been tinkering with this for months and thought perhaps I'd throw it out into the RECord-sphere and let it find its way home. I'm no poet, in fact it goes against all my instincts, but at the time my instincts were smitten with a handsome lad and well...they found themselves here. You colour me Green with the glowing eyes of envy, the flickering hope of neon dreams twinkling and dancing across the mind forever projecting illicit scenes- a touch, a kiss, an ecstatic scream, that bury themselves deep into the spaces between the voices, the sounds, and the sights we see. When I wake to the sun dancing across your skin, I steal a secret smile at the dream I'm in, and while softly you stir, revealing that sleepy grin, with which you bid me every morning's Hello I rest assured of your ignorance towards the way you colour me Indigo. As rich and pure as Nature's ink stained notions is the dye that taints my chaste lips' devotion. A primal hue perpetually reserved for only the most beautiful things- a bird, a petal, a shard of metal or the suffocating swells of a passionate sea, desperate to escape love's chains. No, you just lie there, kissing me softly, without an inkling to the truth- when you blanket your arms around me, you, Love, colour me Blue. A calm and tranquil shade of heaven- now dotted with cotton, then sprinkled with golden dust, but ever a clear reflection of my unwavering affections on which I set the Horizon of my love. And if ever you have wondered just how crazy you can make me, let it stand on record as having been said, the way you flash that smile it does more than drive me wild, it, Love, colours me Red... Flushed lips and cheeks speak all the words I won't have said, Seducing scarlet dreams of you and me Past the confidential threads, of the sheets that line my bed. You know it's true, Love, I'm colourblind without you... |
