Halloween is probably my second favorite holiday of the year because there's a sense of fantasy & whimsy you can fulfill.  Like many others, I love to make things with my own two hands and well, Halloween always motivates me to create something.

In college, all students are low on funds so creativity during Halloween is welcomed.  I noticed the best or at least, more talked about costumes were ones that highlighted pop culture.  I personally, am not on top of my pop culture but I couldn't hide from the iPod craze.  So, I decided to be an inanimate iPod for Halloween.  Thank goodness my friend went along with this idea (probably because I would be making both our costumes ha!).  I made these dresses from Men's Ribbed Tees, courtesy of Wal-mart.  I made the screen, dials, logo, etc on Adobe Illustrator and printed them on iron-on transfers.  Unfortunately, I forgot you couldn't iron-on ribbed tees so I ended up hand stitching the transfers to our dresses.  Super tedious but definitely worth it in the end.  She became the white iPod [still] playing Marvin Gaye "Let's Get It On" and mine Boys II Men "I'll Make Love to You" just to be a little risque for the night x)

This year, I'm pulling this dress from storage and rocking it this weekend to commemorate Steve Jobs for introducing the iPod to us.
