Had a scary episode when I broke up with a guy who had anger problems and abandonment issues.  One night when he woke me up at 4am just so he could yell at me yet again, I told him I wanted to break up and his answer involved throwing the vases I saved from when he bought me flowers, burning pictures of special memories together, and threats about harming himself.  I ended up locking myself in the bathroom because I wasn't sure what he would do, thankfully I was able to leave without injury.  I imagine this song would be sung by the countless victims of domestic violence or abusive relationships as a plee to others who are in a similar situation.
