Funeral for a friend

The funeral was today.
No body cried.
The politicians, even the president lied.
You went with-out a cry.
Not even a whisper.
They killed you, to make us safer.
We let them do it.
We are all guilty of your murder.
I quiver and shake, we knew not what was at stake.
I am sorry you are gone.
Goodbye to you our dear and trusted friend.
Goodbye.
The will of the strong.
The heart of the compassionate
Goodbye to you.
