I took this at the Circus Maximus in Rome in the fall of 2008. There was an installation of 10,000 light bulbs all fading in and out like the ocean and at some point they would all blink rapidly with different colors.
In Ancient Rome, the Circus Maximus was covered in colorful sand, so the artist used this as an inspiration. It was really breathtaking to be a part of this.
