I believe there was talk about a calendar last year and maybe a collab, but I thought I'd start a new one for what would hopefully be a HitRECord calendar for 2012.

Basically, I was thinking of a wall calendar or a daily calendar featuring art and text by various hitRECorders.  You can read more about it in my record about the idea.  But this collab is here so we have a place to share and organize our ideas.  You could recommend RECords you would like to see showcased in a calendar, or just ideas for the design of it, mock-ups of how you envision it looking, anything you want really.

There seems to be some interest in the idea, so let's get to brainstorming!

We have so much great visual art and text that is begging to be showcased at this point in the life of hitRECord.  So I was thinking (and a bunch of us were brainstorming in Tinychat) about how we could go about showcasing it, what kinds of products and tangible records we could make featuring our art, besides the t-shirts and totes and books (which are all amazing).

One thing I thought would be cool is a wall calendar featuring artwork from hitRECord.  There would be opportunities to feature drawings, paintings, tiny stories, poems, image remixes of all kinds.  You could incorporate hitRECord “holidays” into the calendar (11/11 etc).

You could also do a little daily calendar, the kind where you peel off a comic or a saying or something each day—but for tiny stories.  Or for short text RECords, little drawings, anything you wanted to feature, really.  This would be a great way to showcase a lot of art.  We certainly have enough tiny stories, for example, to cull together 365 of them.

I don’t know if there would be enough time to get a 2012 calendar out in time for the new year, but if we could, I think it would be a great way to showcase our art and I, for one, would definitely buy one!

</end of shpiel>.
