My mom has had three different types of cancer prior to this point and is currently battling her fourth and fifth types of cancer.  Every year for the past four years I have taken part in Relay for Life in some way.  This past year I was a team captain and was kinda bummed because I didn't think my mom would make it because she had had 6 hours of chemo that morning.  To my surprise she showed up around sunset.  Well the bugs got really bad and we were all complaining but she laughed and said, "Joke is on them if they want my blood." We all laughed and my dad joked that my mom had the best insect repellent.  It really helped to lighten the mood because she has been battling these cancers for over two years now with hardly any improvement.
