The Dancing Sun

Disclaimer: I may be a dancer, but I ain't no poet. Be gentle.

Two children from the town of rain
Embarked on an adventure new
On wings more strong than paper cranes
To east and south through snow they flew

Traveled they to the dancing sun
To finally meet these friends of years
To hit record, to laugh and run
To sing some songs and drink some beers

In the magic underground
Where bodies dance and warm lights glow
They meet those in flesh and blood bound
Who in the ether they had known

Two ladies waiting at the door
With open arms our heroes greet
To make lines live, one traveled far
One's cherry smile makes hearts skip beats

They see here now a faerie's dance
With love and mirth she welcomes all
Bright-eyed brother near her stands
Tells tales of grandeur, proud and tall

They learn tricks from a smiling clown
Try juggling with an alien
From east and west, from up and down
Have traveled all their newfound friends

Whistlers, strummers, pluckers, drummers
With long arms beckons one and all
He who accompanies swooning lovers
With melodies that sigh and fall

Beaming eyes set on futures far
Our fearless leader ready stands
Once mistaken for a star
He leads, encourages, lends a hand

Still more fill this enchanted space
Finding suns and filming stars
To mix and match, support, create,
All leading to the night of ours

Where droves rush in to witness this
Amazing show of wonderment
They laugh and cry and cheer and bless
our collective's creative bent

Now I return, footsore, heartswelled
To things familiar north and west
But all is changed, I've tales to tell
My future's now unwritten best
