(If I was a politician in an almost-apocalyptic world...) :)
There are no excuses now, no time for hiding meaning between words. Words are flimsy tools but still are mightier than our most potent arms. So make words count before it’s far too late. Look beyond yourself to grander outlooks and observe the options on the road ahead. Do you see it is enlightenment or death?!
Now bellow out the warning, pass on everything you know and do it fast. Before the death knell rings, before the curtains close and we are all blinked out of existence forever and ever with no traces left and no one who could recognise them even if there were any!
Drop your petty comforts, lay your armour down and fight bare-fisted for the best of man and womankind! Only then can there even be a chance for us…for this conscious world that we so proudly occupy, that we so take for granted.
Stand up, children of this waking dream, and rally a cry for change from your roof gardens! Demand an end to the half-truths and the anti-human heresy! Out with the contortionists in the cockpit and in with the smiths, the labourers, the artisans, the farmers and the dreamers! Out with the pinstriped pedlars and their tunnel visions - in with the people of earth and truth!
Sing it now, and sing on until the song is heard in every office, parapet and prison! And never stop - pass on your battle cry through hopeful generations. Breed understanding not contempt – but teach them too to see when some contempt is due.
And maybe in a thousand years the old ways will be washed away, replaced with happy compromises, plans that benefit the many not the mainmen!
And maybe then our goals will be immediate and tangible and we will end each day satisfied!
And maybe then all shapes and sizes of us will enjoy the same real freedoms and we will know deep down that we are all as human as each other!
And maybe then we won’t insult the atoms we are made of!
And maybe we will place true curiosity before false definites!
And maybe we will see how futile all our efforts were when in pursuit of selfish gain.
And maybe there can be hope after all, if we just believe there is...
