So I really am glad to have done this project (although with a bit of a delay in the end). I started out thinking it would be a piece of cake to post one photo each day - despite the warnings; needless to say that wasn’t quite the case. There were times when I wondered what I’d got myself into, and the odd occasion(well, to be fair the not-so-odd occasion) when I really couldn’t be bothered to take a shot. On the whole though, it’s just been simply an amazing experience for me, and I would highly recommend anyone thinking of doing a 365 project to start as soon as possible.
From the start, the project was mostly about documenting my life. In addition though, I really wanted to put my best forward and share it with everyone, and I do feel I have achieved that. I feel that I’ve assembled a body of work that I can be proud of for years to come. I did my best to be creative and tried pass along a little bit of what I’ve learned along the way.
Since I started this project:
Oscar Wilde said “Quotation is a serviceable substitute for wit” and that was actually why and how I started to use quotations on my posts but soon after I realized it became much more significant a part of this project. Quotations became a means for me to aid in my aim of story telling, completing each picture, emphasizing its theme, and they usually explained the pictures better than I ever could have with my own words.
Lastly I’d like to thank everyone who followed my blog, who has ever posed or side-stepped or in any way helped me out along the way. I can clearly say you’ve all been a great inspiration.
I’ve never been a big fan of good-byes (well in fact, I do intend to repeat this project sometime so this isn’t an actual good-bye) so I’ll just repeat the brilliant English poet John Gay’s words: “We only part to meet again”
