Okay, you wanted it REmixed and cut down, so here goes. I really heard this as crying out for a ballad meter, something I haven't written in quite awhile. i climb the spiral of branches glad hands and eager feet i move with melody of dances the breeze, and my heartbeat, brilliant light, i pass through a wall receive epiphany i reach the highest limb of all burst up through canopy blinded by pure white luminance of luna's fullsome girth i turned to see my body cast shadow upon the earth i let go of the tree's embrace face moon with outstretched hands one giant leap onto her face embrace her glowing sands the earth surrounded by the black looks tiny from in space at my first footprint i glance back eternal in this place caught in one eternal moment upon this brilliant moon i must explore her firmament i shall not leave too soon below us earthlings scurry round too busy to look up they miss the joy that i have found half empty is their cup celestial infinity open like children's book revealing the divinity to all who stop to look The really nice thing about ballad meter is you can sing it easily! Just put it to any common ballad tune, such as "O Little town of Bethlehem", or "Amazing Grace" (or even - God forbid - the theme from Gilligan's Island :) but don't - that one is still copyrighted.) Personally love Amazing Grace, but I think this one would sound better to Little Town of Bethlehem. Or, of course, I'm sure hitRECorders can come up with a great ballad tune, maybe already have. |
