CRAFTY PEOPLE: make TEAFAERIE dragon scales! 1st Collaborative Costume!
I was going to just make this costume myself but I realized that TeaFaerie would love love love it if everybody got to participate and add something to her dragon costume! Soo...
If you would like to participate in the first collaborative costume, and help make Tea's Dragon costume for fire spinning, you can! You can make or decorate dragon scales! (If you can't sew, just decorate a scale and I'll do the sewing part. I will be assembling them all anyway, so don't worry.
If you print this image file, on regular paper, you can cut out 4 sizes of dragon scales. The color scheme for the scales is blues and greens. So get any fabric and decorations in any shades of blue and green and anything in between - NOTHING EASILY FLAMMABLE PLEASE!!! - and make some scales! (nonflammable is not quite right - less flammable maybe? Use common sense: nothing like tinder or wax. It WILL be near open flame. So just imagine what the material might do if you held it near a candle. If it does something scary - let's not dress our beloved TeaFaerie in it! Makes sense, right?)
Keep your decorations within the dotted "stitching" lines. But cut the full size scale from the solid line. The space between the dotted and solid lines is my seam allowance so I can finish off the edges of all scales so they don't fray and fall apart.
Just let me know if you are making scales and I'll get you my address to send them to.
AGAIN: NOTHING EASILY FLAMMABLE AND DO NOT GLUE YOUR DECORATIONS ON (The glue will melt near spinning fire.)
P.S. You can also send a ribbon for her headpiece if you can't do a scale, but want to play along. :^)
