Dreamer

Whether my eyes are wide-open or closed

 There’s a fantasy playing out in my mind

 The life I have is not the life I chose

 Regardless of that I’m running out of time

 I can’t stay forever a little girl

 I can’t resist the natural affects of age

 I’ve been too long for that in this world

 It’s time to overcome my fright and walk onto the stage

 It’s true that time stops for no one and does fly by

 Yet the woman in me has been reluctant to come out

 It’s also true that you live and then you die

 Time is what we need to have but that’s not what life’s about

 It’s about using your time right and acquiring the means

 At least that’s what I’ve been brought up to believe

 And now they tell me that I need to grow out of my little girl dreams

 But who knows what I could achieve

 My dreaming has really only just begun

 And all my life I’ve been a dreamer and I’ll always be one.
