It's like I created my own Pokemon (LOL) :3 only I made whatever comes to mind (even the scariest and strangest monsters will do, no cute Pikachu incarnate here, unless you want to). 

But you have to make your own kid, plus their own weird story, and their pet monster, also with its own weird story.

The boy's name is Budj (origin of nickname unknown) but his real name is Robert, his parents hoping that a normal name will result in a normal child, alas, that is not so. He doesn't like sleeping much, and his unkempt mop of hair testifies to his aversion of baths as well. But he is quiet and well-behaved and he found his monstrous pet underneath his old baby crib.

Four, his four-legged monster pet, likes baths and sleeping and dreams of acquiring braces for his teeth. He's not that physically fit but he does try to diet (he cannot stand having to drag his bum around anymore). He likes Budj a lot but will not stand for his unwholesome sleeping schedule and hygienic practices (coming from a slime monster that accusation is quite heavy indeed).
